I paid for extended support and I’m tired of trying to fix the problems created with the last two updates. So, now I want someone from the support team to log into my website and look at the problem, do what needs to be done to fix your broken code, then let me know when it’s fixed.

The first time I updated to 4.5.x my headers disappeared, then I went back a version from a server backup (two hours of my time) and now new issues have come up where Chrome won’t display an entire column of pictures which appear perfectly fine in Edge and Firefox but are broken in the latest version of Chrome. Then I stupidly thought the previous errors could be fixed (including the missing picture column) in the newly released 4.5.6 version, so I updated using the zip file method with the zip install plugin suggested.

Now I have a website running the latest 4.5.6 and it has all the same errors as before, the headers are missing, and the 1/3 column of pictures still won’t work in Chrome.

So, I’m marking this message as private and I’ll have notify turned on. I’ve created a username and password (in the private area of this message) and I want someone to go in and fix the broken code once and for all.

    Thank you.

    Hey davevi,

Thanks for the login details. I unchecked the option to lazy load image from your third party caching plugin and the images are loading fine after that.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

We would like to apologize for the late response and for the troubles.

The fix for the asset or file compression was not included on the latest version unintentionally. We modified the asset-manager.php file manually for now.

Your reply didn’t answer my question or fix the issue. However, reading through the threads you referenced I found notes about turning off the performance features from the Enfold code. Once these were disabled my site returned to normal.

I am very concerned about Kriesi’s future, noted development mistakes, and slow support responses (apparently due to the large number of issues).

I realize that the support people who reply to these posts are not likely to be owners or developers of this very popular product, but it is clear to me that something negative is happening at this company and the code quality and support backlog have progressively become worse over the last twelve months.

It is in everyone’s best interest to have a Plan B to using the software from this company — I know that I will be working on a prebuilt switch-over if needed.

What sucks is that this is a good front-end, and support that was better, but most importantly it used to be well written code that didn’t contain foolish bugs and overlooked fixes “unintentionally” left out of new releases.

    Sad.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

Your reply didn’t answer my question or fix the issue.

You wanted someone to login to your site and manually fix the issue. We did modify the said file and fixed the issue, so I’m not really sure what you mean by that. We do like to apologize that we missed including the file in the latest patch. That was unintentional as previously mentioned.

Once these were disabled my site returned to normal.

The file modification fixed the issue on your site the last time we checked, so you probably visited a cached version of the page.

(apparently due to the large number of issues).

Are there any other issues in the site? Please let us know so that we can help you fix them.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Let me correct a few things here to keep the facts clear.

After a support person logged into my site the errors were NOT completely corrected. The header and overlay text were not present on any platform or browser.

It was after this finding, the lazy load issue was fixed but the header was not, that I sent an follow up message saying my issues are not fixed.

Then I found the error using a prior referred-to post that talked about turning off the performance enhancing parts of Enfold fixed problems, and I turned all those off and it fixed the header and overlay text.

To be clear about your assertion. There were no cache errors or issue as you guessed wrongly. So let’s be clear, the issue wasn’t fixed the first time around, I know how cache works, and I ended up fixing your company’s software errors thanks to a similar post about your software errors from another user and another support person.

The leaving out the fix file mod issue is just not excusable. Period. It’s the software equivalent to saying ‘sorry we left that surgery sponge in you, whoops, our bad, yours to fix.”

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

We actually checked the site thoroughly, so we’re quite sure that the issue is fixed after we modified the asset-manager.php file and toggled the File Compression settings a few times. And during the process, we also deactivated the WP Rocket plugin temporarily just to check if it’s a cache issue.

We are not fond of wasting any time here, so we try to fix any issues as fast as we can. Please let us know if the asset-manager.php file modification didn’t fix the issue so that we can inspect the problem again asap.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi,

UPDATE: We tried to login but got locked out by WordFence. Please deactivate the security plugin temporarily so that we can check the site again.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

You were locked out because the account was removed.

As I said in my last post — all things are working now thanks to threads I followed and fixes I implemented to bugs in your code.
Then I found the error using a prior referred-to post that talked about turning off the performance enhancing parts of Enfold fixed problems, and I turned all those off and it fixed the header and overlay text.

There is no need for further action from the support team.

    Thank you.
