    Dear Kriesi,

    I have a problem with our website using Enfold theme. The avia builder keeps loading forever and I am unable to find a solution online. This happened after the PHP version was changed to 7.3 and the webhost does not change the version back. Locally the site works fine and the problem is probably the PHP version or something in the theme. The old website builder no longer works on the site so I don’t have the support code for the forums. Currently I am running enfold version 3.8 with PHP 7.3. Would love some help with this thanks in advance.

    Hi Richard!

    Thanks for contacting us!

    You are currently using a very old version of Enfold and updating the theme to the latest version would make the theme compatible with your PHP version.

    Please refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/#update-via-ftp and update the theme via FTP :)

    Hello Yigit,

    Thanks for your response. The theme was upgraded before but that messes up a lot of things such as the menu etc. This is the reason it is still the old theme. Is there a way to update it without affecting the site? Also I downloaded the theme from a different source and I think I have to rebuy it. But I don’t want to break the site so I have to be sure this does not happen before buying.

    Hi Richard,

    I see that you are using a child theme as well. What kind of modifications have you made on your child theme? If you have modified files such as header.php file, that could be the cause of the issue.

    We would recommend you to create a testing environment and update the theme there firstly. If you experience any issues after updating the theme, please feel free to let us know and we will gladly look into it :)

    Hello Yigit,

    I will setup a test environment first. I have not made changes on the child theme but this was already done before I started working on it. Thanks for your help will let you know when I continue. I first need to buy the theme I think since I did not purchase the theme myself the old web developer did this and we have no contact with him anymore.
