Hi,
I’ve been trying to install the Spa demo content into might site, but the installation keeps failing. I know there are one of two topics on this which I have read up on them, but none of the suggestions work for me.My website is a clean install of the latest version of WordPress, WooCommerce and Enfold, and I’ve tried installing the demo content several times through the Theme Options, but it always fails to import.
Since then I’ve tried it through the WordPress importer and imported the XML file. This seemed like it was working, but when the site refreshed it pulled a 504 error when going on to step 2.
Please can you let me know what else I can try to get the Spa demo installed on my site?
Many thanks
Nathan
February 21, 2018 at 2:56 pm #915475Hey Nathan,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?
Can you check these values on your installation
php_value post_max_size 512M
php_value upload_max_filesize 512M
php_value max_input_vars 5000
php_value max_execution_time 300
php_value max_input_time 300
php_value memory_limit 512MBest regards,
VictoriaFebruary 21, 2018 at 3:27 pm #915502Hi Victoria,
Thanks for getting back to me, I’ll add temp admin info to the private content box for you.
Not sure where to check that information from, would that be via a php.ini file?Kind regards
NathanFebruary 21, 2018 at 8:42 pm #915678Hi,
You can add them to php.ini or to htaccess or ask the hosting company to help, as different hostings have different installation phases.

BasilisFebruary 21, 2018 at 10:44 pm #915746This has worked now, thanks for all of your help.
Kind regards
NathanFebruary 21, 2018 at 11:22 pm #915773Actually, it’s kind of funny, but I changed my mind on which demo site I wanted to try!
It installed the Spa one fine, but now I want to try out the Shop demo, but it fails and errors out like before.
Do I need to update the php.ini file again, or clear any caches so that I can try the shop theme? Thanks
NathanFebruary 22, 2018 at 5:06 am #915867Hi Nathan,
Could you try to import the demo manually to see if that works better? You will find instructions in private.

RikardFebruary 22, 2018 at 12:22 pm #915991Hi Rikard,
I’ve tried both methods – importing from the Theme Options section and using WordPress Importer, both methods fail.
I’ll try the wordpress database reset to remove the demo content and see if that works.
Thanks
NathanFebruary 22, 2018 at 12:38 pm #916003Hi, I’ve since reset my database and tried again to upload the demo content both through the theme options section and the wordpress importer and neither methods work.
Please can you let me know what else to try?February 22, 2018 at 3:37 pm #916137Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, I’ve never encountered that before actually. Do you actually need the whole demo? If you only need a few pages then we can give you the shortcodes for them to add to new pages, you would need to activate debug mode in order to see shortcodes first though: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/
If you are happy with only a few pages then please link to them here and we’ll send you the shortcodes for them.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 22, 2018 at 4:48 pm #916172Hi Rikard,
I’d prefer to have the whole demo installed so that I can see the site in it’s entirety. It almost works – the pages and blog content have been populated, but the theme itself has not been applied.
Please let me know what else there is to try?
Thanks
Nathan
February 23, 2018 at 5:15 am #916506Hi Nathan,
Thanks for the feedback, so you are running the Shop demo? If so then please try to import the file in private under Enfold->Import/Export. If the settings don’t apply then please try to toggle a setting and save.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 23, 2018 at 1:05 pm #916634Hi, thanks for sending the import file.
I’ve tried this and it says the file has been imported successfully and the page refreshes, but the shop theme still doesn’t apply. I’ve also tried again using the WP importer, but it times out with a 504 error.
This is getting frustrating now, thinking about truncating the entire database and starting from scratch, but would prefer not to.
Is there anything else I can try? It worked once, not sure why it won’t work again though.
Thanks
NathanFebruary 24, 2018 at 5:48 am #916977Hi Nathan,
I don’t think I have any more tricks to offer you other than importing everything manually unfortunately. If you only want a couple of pages that might be the best solution. If you want to try that then please post links to the pages you want and I’ll give you the shortcodes for them to paste to new pages.
Also, please check the login details, non of the ones you posted are working for me.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 24, 2018 at 1:30 pm #917076Hi,
I’m more than happy to try a manual install. I’m a web designer so I have FTP and phpmyadmin access to this site, just wanted to get a head start with the layout you have for the shop.I’ve updated the login info below.
Hope to hear from you soon.
ThanksNathan
February 24, 2018 at 3:18 pm #917128Hi,
As we spoke about in a different thread, I have included the files for the shop demo for your site in the Private Content area.
In the zip you will find a uploads.zip that you will need to extract to your uploads folder, a wp-migrate file that is the database that you will need to overwrite your database with via PHPmyAdmin. Here is a video on how to do it (near the end) You will also find a login.txt for the login after you overwrite the database.
Please note that you will lose all of your content and customization if you use this demo import, this database will only work on your one site.
Let us know if this works for you.Best regards,
MikeFebruary 26, 2018 at 9:52 pm #918050Hi Mike,
Well, you’ve certainly earned your wages for this month, and the bonus for the year in my opinion – that’s worked a treat! Thank you so much!
Thanks for taking the time to set that up and explain everything to me. Hopefully this thread will help others too as it seems somewhat a common problem!?
Thanks again!
Nathan
