I have the following error in my Enfold (updated to newest version):
-
When I make changes to a component, the following components on the page gets deleted.
Components are visible in edit mode but not in preview mode.
When I save the page, the missing components are not saved
It happens on multiple pages – apparently not a separate corrupted page
I have tried to remove all inline HTML code – no change
To the best of my knowledge this happens for all types of components. This behaviour seems to have come up recently. I’ve used WordPress and Enfold for 10+ years – I regularly update pages and have never had this issue before.
November 3, 2023 at 6:00 pm #1424587Hi JacobSalomonsen,
Can you try to rollback or revert to the previous version of Enfold?
Then try to setup a staging site and perform updates there, and if the issue still persists, please give us temporary admin access to the staging site so we can further inspect it.Best regards,
NikkoNovember 6, 2023 at 9:09 am #1424768Hi Nikko, thanks for your reply.
I tried to replicate the error in my current sandbox (running Enfold 5.6.5) and here I do not have the problem.
Where can I get hold of the previous version – I normally update via the Enfold panel and never download/keep the files.FYI: I run PHP version 7.4.11 – I believe this is not the newest but not sure if this could impact the issue.
Best regards

November 6, 2023 at 10:31 am #1424772Hi Jacob,
Could you post login details in private to a site where we can see the actual problem? It’s likely that you have open html markup in your content if things are disappearing from your layouts.
Best regards,

November 6, 2023 at 1:44 pm #1424785Hi,
Thanks for that, I think you forgot to include a link to your site though?

November 7, 2023 at 2:54 am #1424845Hi Jacob,
I could see a lot of Mixed Content errors in the Web Console, you can see this if you Inspect (using web inspector) and going to Console.
Is there a new plugin added to your site?
Also, can you set the permission of the account to an administrator? since only limited actions is allowed for the current permission and it would be hard to troubleshoot (I would suggest setting up a staging site instead, so the live site won’t be affected when troubleshooting).Best regards,
NikkoNovember 7, 2023 at 1:13 pm #1424918Hi Nikko,
I’ve created a new staging site.
No new plugins afaik.
Appreciate your helpNovember 8, 2023 at 6:10 pm #1425016Hi Jacob,
I tried to check further on the issue however at the moment, I could not find the cause of this weird issue.
Can you try to update it to PHP version 8 and see if it helps?Best regards,

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to check your site again, but it’s asking for a Google Authenticator code after logging in. Could you turn that off for now please?
Best regards,

It sounds like your page has some broken elements due to some unclosed tags, typically this occurs when “strong” tags are added to title fields and the closing tag is missing, or when div tags are added the closing tag is missing. This can occur when text is copied and paste into a text element in visual mode. Try checking the text elements in the “text” mode to see if there a added div tags. If you see any elements with a red warning, please follow the link in the warning and remove the HTML code:
Sometimes a page with these errors can not be fixed and a new page will need to be created. If your page has these kind of errors please try creating a new page without these kind of errors and see if this solves your issue. Please note that if you have used templates from saved elements or pages, these may include the broken code and will need to be removed as they can not be fixed, so try to create your page from scratch and see if you can reproduce the error, if you can and you have already tried to disable all of your plugins to ensure there is no plugin conflict, then please link to your test page so we can examine and try to reproduce the error.
Unfortunately I’m not able to login, please disable the Google Authenticator code request.Best regards,
