Hi Kriesi
Please could you help me out. I have been using Enfold for years and absolutely love it. This is the first time that I imported the enfold default demo. I want to use the Homepage v9 under the custom link home page. How do I convert v9 to become the custom link home page?
Also, I have opened a sub-domain in order to create a new website which is obviously not live at present. When I select the homepage custom link in enfold default demo pages setup, and I want to preview, it takes me to the client’s current live site, why?
November 5, 2024 at 6:02 am #1470613Hey M-Graphics24,
Thank you for the inquiry.
What do you mean by “become the custom link home page”? Are you trying to adjust the menus? If so, try to go to the Appearance > Menus panel and make sure that the new home page is properly set as the front page in the Enfold > Theme Options.
Also, I have opened a sub-domain
How did you open a sub-domain? Did you import the database from the live site? Please provide the link to the subdomain so that we can check it.
Best regards,

Thank you for your response.
I was battling because my client has redirects on all his domains. These point to his current live website. When I open a sub-domain on cPanel I have never had the preview go to the live site before -that is what is confusing me but I believe it is because he has a redirect all setup on cPanel so that is what I need to resolve.
I am assuming that then I will be able to functionally view the pages I am working on designing.
Thank you for your feedback. I will revert if I am still not winning.
November 5, 2024 at 8:12 am #1470634Hey!
Thank you for the update.
You may need to exclude the subdomain from these redirections. Please contact your hosting provider for more info. We’ll keep the thread open for updates.

IsmaelNovember 5, 2024 at 3:24 pm #1470662Hi Ismael
I have excluded the subdomain in the redirects and can now preview the homepage and others. I have now got a new problem which I have on another site as well and this is a BIG problem. Now whenever I make changes and update I get the dreaded red bar with the message “Updating Failed”
Please this is happening on my site as well and I have not been able to find a solution for this. If I make any edit to the site it will not update.
I need a solution for this urgently, please.
November 6, 2024 at 5:18 am #1470723Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Have you tried deactivating the plugins temporarily? It’s also possible that the custom server setup is affecting the installation. Is there any way you can clone the site to a temporary domain with a standard WordPress setup?
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 6, 2024 at 5:46 am #1470728Hi Ismael
I did all these protocols on my site and it then worked when all plugins were uninstalled. As I activated them one by one until all were activated it worked for about 5 minutes and then came with same error. Then when deactivating all plugins again it just wont work at all.
as for the custom server setup, I don’t know as these are two different service providers. The last plugin I installed on my current problem site was W3Total
Are you aware of problems with this plugin and enfold?Regards
MNovember 7, 2024 at 5:44 am #1470804Hi,
Thank you for the update.
There are many Enfold sites using the W3Total Cache plugin, so we don’t think this is the issue. Please keep the plugins disabled for now while working on the site, or as previously suggested, try cloning the site to a server with a standard WordPress setup without the redirects and additional configurations.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 11, 2024 at 4:35 pm #1471097Good day Ismael
And, yes in response to your above statement with respect to W3 Total Cache plugin, I have used it always with the Enfold theme and never had any problems. This updating failed problem has only started happening in the last 4 months whilst designing on Enfold. I deactivated all plugins with the idea of activating once my site design was complete and have had a hassle free few days of designing and updating. Lo and behold, towards the end of today, the “updating failed” message has started appearing again. I have no plugins activated.
Please, please can somebody give me a solution or reason for this. It is now becoming a really big problem.
November 12, 2024 at 2:28 am #1471122Hi,
Thank you for the update.
We may need to access the site to further check the issue. Please keep the plugins disabled, provide the login details in the private field, and make sure that the Appearance > Theme File Editor is accessible.
Best regards,

Please could I get a response soonest, I have lost a whole day of work
November 13, 2024 at 5:42 am #1471183Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We were unable to reproduce the issue on a test page. Is this occurring on a specific page? Also, please make sure that the theme is updated from version 6.0.4 to the latest version, 6.0.6. And as recommended above, you may need to clone the site to a server with a standard WordPress setup without the extra configurations and redirects.
Best regards,
Ismael -
