I am having serious issues with compatibility between Enfold and WordPress latest version. My website cant be edited since a WordPress v 4.0 update.
I can open WordPress pages, but the Enfold editor does not display templates – the window just hangs – frustrating.
    Need this sorted out urgently.
    thanks

I am having the exact same problems!!!

This REALLY needs to be sorted out as I have a major project that is due and cannot make the changes to show my client. This is not good :(

Same here – using this theme on my professional website – and this is an unacceptable state of affairs.
I discussed this with my service provider and they said that this is something they are beginning to see lot of.
On top of this my website was hacked ( Enfold theme was the culprit) and then tried to update to all latest versions. Although my WordPress dashboard said I had all the latest versions, apparently this was not the case when my service provider checked the system under the hood.

This brings serious questions to the suitability of these themes if they have significant vulnerabilities and incompatibilities.
Kresni needs to get this sorted PRONTO !

    Hey!

Make sure you are using Enfold version 2.9.2 which was actually pushed out before WordPress 4.0 was even released and was tested (and updated) to work with the changes WordPress 4.0 introduced.

    @solarhq
    are currently using 2.9.1.

Since updating to 4.0 I am no longer able to add Media. When clicking on the ADD MEDIA button, nothing happens (not error message, no action). When I try to set a Featured Image in a Blog Post, I am taken to a new page with the media options, but then a blank page appears after uploading. (Previously when setting the featured image, a Lightbox window opens, but now I’m taken to a new page that opens in the current tab). Other sites not updated to 4.0 are working fine. I’m using 2.9.1.

**Updated to 2.9.2 and can now set featured image and add media is back.

Glad updating did the trick :)

Ok, having been given the run around and chasing hares down dead end streets from cryptic answers/suggestions from these theme developers and showcases – it turns out that although these templates are supposed to be simple and operated by novices – in fact you still have to be a bit of a geek to sort out this mess. There is no clear way that a user is :
    1. informed of what version one is running
    2. advised that new releases have been launched
    3. supposed to find the updates
    4. is supposed to know how to install updates
    etc
    etc.
I guess that’s the joy of open source, everyone getting on the band wagon, writing stuff to sell, without a proper professional approach to customer support ( ie everyone using this stuff is assumed to be as geeky as the geeks themselves! ).

Anyhow – tirade over – here is a way to sort out your WordPress problems ( believe me this works – have been agonizing over this over the last 3 days and eventually figured out how to do this). This is the OLNY thing you have to do to get your theme back working properly.
    ————————————————————————
How to update Enfold theme to latest version:

    Go to ThemeForest website
    http://themeforest.net
    Insert username and password

Then click on your username and select ‘download’ from the dropdown menu.
    Download the Enfold zip file

Extract Enfold folder and replace in ftp site via FileZilla (this is the geeky part!) – or similar ftp method.
    See video instruction
    http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

instructions are very good – you just have to know where to find them – tip – store the above for future reference.
tip – manually check your set up often to see if there are new updates, because no one is going to tell you when there are.
    Good LUCK!

    Hi!

Thank you for sharing that info.

You can find the current theme version on Appearance > Themes. Just click the Enfold to show the current version. Updates can be found on Enfold > Theme Update panel. In case you have any questions, please take some time to review all of the resources in the Theme Documentation as a lot of basic stuff like theme installation, css snippets etc are already available in there with better explanation and awesomeness. Watch some of our Video Tutorials to learn more about the different aspect of the theme. You can also search the forums for queries that has been answered before that might be related to your problem.

If you find that you still have questions after taking the time on our documentations, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. If you have any requests or you feel like giving us a warm hug? You can definitely post it on our Feature Requests page. :)
    Thanks!

I had all the same issues as stated above.

I have updated to wordpress 4.0 and enfold 2.9.2

I am now having major issues with my menus.

    menu repeating

I have done the suggested fix which is to create a new menu and select this as the main menu. That is not working and everytime I go back into menus there is no menu selected as main.

Anybody able to help out with this?

    Hey!

Please go to Appearance > Menus and order it as needed as shown in screenshot – http://i.imgur.com/5RV16vv.png

I am having the same problem. This is my topic:

    https://kriesi.at/support/topic/cannot-upload-images-or-access-layout-builder-after-wp-4-0-upgrade/#post-316217

The problem is that I did not make a child theme. Which ofc was stupid. How can I fix the problem?

    Hey!

I have replied to you in your topic – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/cannot-upload-images-or-access-layout-builder-after-wp-4-0-upgrade/#post-316593
Let us not mix the topics :)

@bootit – Make sure you’ve deactivated all active plugins and then try things again.

For anyone else please create a new topic for your specific issue as we keep getting these bandwagon topics and it doesn’t end up helping anyone and instead slows things down.
