When I’m editing my website in the backend, my CPU, physical memory and I/O usage is constantly maxing out causing 503 errors, critical errors, and extremely slow page loading. I’ve disabled all plugins and the issue remains. I’ve spoken to my service provider extensively and they’ve investigated and assured me it’s theme – Enfold. I’ve also used the plugin Code Profiler which shows Enfold processes are taking an extremely long time to load.
I’ve added admin user details in the private content area. Could you please investigate? Thank you

March 9, 2025 at 5:44 pm #1478957March 9, 2025 at 5:49 pm #1478958Thank you. I’ve made the changes you suggested and fixed the REST API error but editing in the backend is still painfully slow and I’m still maxing out resources constantly.
March 9, 2025 at 6:27 pm #1478960Hi,
At first, I get a 503 server error:
but after a few tries I see that you still have a REST API has a critical error
perhaps your web host has added too many sites to the server, this is typically for many hosts, a 503 error is typically a server error and not due to the theme.
I can not reproduce with my test site, it runs quickly without error. We are not server experts as there are a lot of server settings and a lot of different servers.
Typically one spam site on a server can max out the server resources and all of the other sites suffer.
I see that you have a lot of plugins activate, perhaps one is having an error, I know you tried to test with them disabled, how long did you wait, with them disabled?Best regards,
MikeMarch 9, 2025 at 6:31 pm #1478961Could I ask where you’re seeing this? When I go to site health it says ‘Good’ and shows no REST API error. There are recommended improvements but no critical errors. Thanks
March 9, 2025 at 6:47 pm #1478962Hi,
I see it in the “site health” as in the screenshot, perhaps it is not always but I have seen it three times now when I check.Best regards,
MikeMarch 9, 2025 at 8:27 pm #1478967Thank you. When I run Code Profiler I can see that during backend editing the following process is taking 10 seconds to load:
wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/base-classes/class-popup-templates-base.php
Is this normal behaviour?
March 10, 2025 at 6:30 am #1478988Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We can see the same report when we run the profiler again. Could you please post the FTP details in the private field so we can test and debug the issue further? It would be even better if you could clone the site to a staging environment so that we can investigate without affecting the live site.
Best regards,
IsmaelMarch 10, 2025 at 6:47 am #1478990Please feel free to investigate the live site
March 10, 2025 at 7:16 am #1478996Hi,
We’ll need the FTP details to make changes to the theme files and revert them if necessary. Please provide the information in the private field.
Best regards,
IsmaelMarch 10, 2025 at 7:28 am #1478997Ah sorry, here they are
March 13, 2025 at 8:36 am #1479213Hi, it’s been three days, I just wondered if you might be able to look at this soon as my website is completely broken.
March 13, 2025 at 10:18 pm #1479281Hi,
The Dev Team writes that it sounds like server related issue and maybe caused by a plugin or more than several thousand posts/pages
Try to replace

MikeMarch 13, 2025 at 10:41 pm #1479285Sorry could you give me more info about the code you’ve supplied – what it does and what to do with it? Thank you
