Hello,
I have a problem with Enfold and the media overview.
When using Avia Layout Architect on pages / posts and inserting images directly from the media library in the Avia elements,
i.e. images that have been uploaded directly to the media library, the images are later displayed in the media library as “not attached”.However, if you upload images from the Avia elements to the media library, the images are shown in the media library as “attached”.
This makes it almost impossible to optimize the media library by deleting “not attached” images, because at the end of the day you don’t know whether an image is being used or not.
best regrads

Thanks for contacting us!
I made a quick test on my local installation using the default Twenty Twenty-One theme but the behaviour is the same. I tried adding the image that was directly uploaded to media library to content and setting it as featured image in Twenty Twenty-One however it still displayed it as “unattached”.
Best regards,
YigitNovember 24, 2021 at 12:35 am #1330200@Yigit do you think this is a WordPress core issue? Should images added through ALB gallery, for example, be ‘attached’ to a post? I ask because I’m trying to use the Easy Add Thumbnail plugin so that I don’t need to explicitly add a featured image to my Porfolio Items and it’s not working and I think this might be the reason.
EDIT if I use the classic editor and add media to a post, the media is ‘attached’ to the post in the media library. If I use an ALB element that adds media to the post, this doesn’t work. I find this weird. Why would Enfold not try to replicate default WP behaviour in this way?
Thanks

November 24, 2021 at 6:03 am #1330253Hi,
It seems to be working as it should as shown in the screenshot below.
Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/jaYIvfK
The first image (morgan2), which is unattached, is uploaded directly in the media library and added to a post called “Unattached Post” using the Image element, so the the Advance Layout Builder is active on this one. The second (morgan4) and third image (morgan3) are attached to the “Unattached Post” post because they were uploaded directly in the page using the Image element. The fourth one (morgan1) is attached to a post called “Attached Post”, which is using the default block editor. In both editors, the behavior is the same.
So if you do not want the images to be attached to a post or page, make sure to upload them directly in the Media > Library pane, edit a page, add any image element (sliders, gallery etc) and select them from there.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 25, 2021 at 1:03 am #1330370Thanks for following up @ismael, and sorry for wasting your time. All these years and I never realized that inserting a previously uploaded image from the media library does not create an attachment link, only when you actually upload on that page. For some reason it’s never been an issue before because I always use the feature image, but my client asked me why I had to select the feature image separately rather than just using one from the gallery, and I thought it was a good usability question, but obviously one for all of WP, not Enfold.
Thanks for the support.November 25, 2021 at 6:16 am #1330407 -
