I read through and implemented the answers in the support query: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/single-event-layout-problem-with-version-5-5/
However, it is not working for me. Perhaps I did something wrong. Would you check it for me?

In addition, is there a way to modify this to allow the image to be full-sized?

Thank you for the inquiry.
Looks like you have already managed to adjust the style of the events calendar. This is what we see on our end.

Please try to disable the Performance > File Compression settings and purge the cache afterwards.
