Hello, I have a client who asked to update his site. He uses the Enfold theme 2.7
How could I update this version for him?
In the “theme’s options” I see that to update the theme I need to use the ID and API of Themforest. The client has no contact with the site ex.developer of his site and has no ID and API
Could you please help to advise what could i do to update the Enfold 2.7 to the latest version
(as for the moment the page builder of version 2.7 doesn’t work, after i updated WordPress)Should we buy once again the Them? If yes will it support all the information, or I will have to redo the site?
Thank you
January 13, 2017 at 2:42 pm #733141Hey Katerina!
Thank you for contacting us!
I am afraid the only way to get full support and theme updates is by having access to a Themeforest account which was used to purchase the theme.
The easiest way would be to get in touch with your developer and ask him for the purchase code and an API key. That would allow you to create a forum account here (one that got access to more than the pre-sale question area) and would also allow you to update the theme from your backend.
If you cant get in touch with your developer for whatever reason, you can also try to contact Envato support and ask them if its possible for them to credit the purchase to a Themeforest account of your own: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
However this will probably only work if your developer already sent you a payment receipt or something similar for the purchase.Last option would be to create a themeforest account of your own and use it to re-purchase the theme.
I hope one of the first two options works out for you, but unfortunately we can’t help until we have a valid verification that the theme was purchased properly. This is necessary for us, since there are quite a few people out there who don’t buy the theme on themeforest and instead download it for free on illegal file sharing sites and then even have the audacity to ask us for support.
Sorry for that!
Cheers!

We would prefer to buy once again the theme Enfold, as the project is very urgent for my client and he is ready to buy new version of Enfold. The only thing we are worried, is that we will have to re-do the site if we install new version of Enfold.
So i wanted to ask:
do you know if the new version of theme (that we will buy) will keep the information that on the site now? or we will get the empty site with new version of Theme? (this is very important to us as we can not decide if its worth to continue to try to find ex.developer or we can buy and reinstall the theme without big losses of information on the site)
Thank you
Katia
January 13, 2017 at 3:02 pm #733150Hey Katia,
If previous developer made any changes on parent theme files and have not moved them to a child theme, those changes will be overwritten. If that is not the case, you can go ahead and update the theme. You are currently using a very old version of the theme therefore you may need to reconfigure some options/settings such as header and widgets.
Let us know if you have any other questions :)
Cheers!
