Hi guys
I just wanted to test (in a local environment) how far Enfold 4.5 is connected to Gutenberg.
Preconditions
- Core version: WordPress 5.0-beta1-43832
- Enfold 4.5
- No plugins installed
Result
Besides the Gutenberg editor, no avia page builder is visible at all for any pages or posts.Questions
1) Is the only solution for now to install the “Classic Editor” plugin if I want to test Enfold 4.5 with WP 5.0?
2) Timeline: When will it be possible to test Enfold 4.5 with WP 5.0 and Gutenberg activated, so the theme page builder can be used properly? Thanks a lot for any helpful answer and have a great day
MichaelOctober 29, 2018 at 6:51 pm #1027703So does this mean that Enfold 4.5 is STILL not compatible or will not work with Gutenberg in WP 5.0?? Will sites build with Enfold become broken? This is concerning…
October 29, 2018 at 6:57 pm #1027709Well, right now, if you combine Enfold 4.5 with WP 5.0 beta version, it will not work unfortunately.
This is why I started this thread to hopefully get more information about it. I think it is pretty crucial.October 29, 2018 at 7:02 pm #1027711Well that’s just great, with WP 5.0 only a few weeks away. Kreisi, what is being done about a theme that so many people use?

November 11, 2018 at 5:49 pm #1032249Still waiting for an update from Kriesi here (see my original questions).
November 12, 2018 at 4:27 pm #1032648Yes, some answers and clarification would be most appreciated. Still wondering if we’re expected to use Classic Editor plugin, as it does appear to restore functionality to WP 5.0 Beta 3…
November 15, 2018 at 9:29 am #1033852Hi,
The dev team are currently working on this. Based on the updated codes for Gutenberg compatibility on the theme’s repo, the upcoming solution is to add a switch button between the Gutenberg editor and the advance layout builder. You won’t be able to actually edit the theme elements with Gutenberg but you will be able to use the advance layout builder inside the gutenberg editor page. Basically, the compatibility fixes will hide gutenberg and replace it with the advance layout builder. I’ll tag Guenter and Kriesi for clarification.
Best regards,

Thanks a lot for the update.
Is there a timeline for the new Enfold release which will be able to handle Gutenberg? I guess it will be Enfold 4.6.Very curious when the new release is planned for.

MichaelNovember 16, 2018 at 5:55 am #1034273Hi Michael,
We don’t have a timeline yet since we don’t know when the development will be finished, we should have something working and released before the planned release of WordPress 5 though, so roughly within 10 days from now.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 26, 2018 at 9:05 pm #1037773Hi Rikard
Thanks for the update.
Do you have some more news by any chance now? I guess there will be an Enfold update this week, is that correct?I would love to test the ALB and Gutenberg in parallel with WP 5.0 RC1 already.
Best
MichaelNovember 28, 2018 at 10:07 am #1038387Hi,
We’re still working on a new release, but since WordPress 5 wasn’t released yesterday as planned, we still don’t know when it will be out. The official site currently says TBD: https://make.wordpress.org/core/5-0/, a bit like our own status :-)
