I had the Iconosquare Instagram widget and the Twitter widget side by side on my front page – when I upgraded to 2.9.2, the Iconosquare widget “slipped” into the footer, leaving a blank space where it was, next to the Twitter widget. I deleted it in the footer back end, it disappeared from the footer on the front end, but I can’t get it to show correctly on the page! It still shows correctly on the layout builder (it never disappeared there – just showed up mysteriously in the footer area), but I cannot get it to show on the page. It’s really very weird. I do have the current version of the widget. Any ideas? Still on WP 3.9.2
clarifying – Both the Twitter & Iconosquare widgets are in Widget Area content element blocks, both set to “Displayed Everywhere”. They were working perfectly until the Enfold update. Since I wrote the above, the Twitter widget has also completely disappeared. The ONLY thing I changed was setting the footer columns from 5 to 4 – and there she went. Now I’m scared to touch a dang thing.
Can I have 2.9 back please? This release is scaring me.
soooo….. somehow I seem to have fixed it. But I’m not sure how. I moved both widgets (Twitter & Instagram) back and forth between the “Displayed Everywhere” area and the “Enfold Custom Widget Area” (which is where they started out), and on the 4th or so move back, they snapped in. I don’t really understand how these two areas work, so I thought perhaps I had the wrong one – but they’re back where they started out. Please go in and have a look, ‘cuz this was very odd behavior.
