Hello Enfold Team,
when I want to edit my posts, all I get is an icon that symbolizes a permanent loading of the editor page. The post cannot be edited. Waiting 30 minutes has not solved the problem. What could be the reason? How can I solve the problem and edit my posts again?Thank you for further help and best regards,
MagnusNovember 3, 2020 at 9:24 am #1257903Hey ClimbingSocks,
Thanks for the login details. I tried editing the post in private, and that works without any problems. Are you having this problem on a specific post maybe?
Best regards,

November 4, 2020 at 6:40 am #1258180Hi,
Thanks for that, I see the same thing on my end unfortunately. Could you activate debug mode and move all the shortcodes to a new post to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode. We can do it for you if you give us permission.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 4, 2020 at 9:31 am #1258185Yes, please go ahead. Permission granted. Thank you in advance!
November 5, 2020 at 6:50 am #1258535Hi,
Thanks for that. I created a copy of the post, please see private. I then copied the shortcode section by section to a new post, see second link in private. The second post seems to work as expected, could you check that all your content is in there please? If not then please try to add back what is missing.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 7, 2020 at 2:33 am #1258966Hi,
thank you. Yes the second post seems to work. What exactly do I have to do to get the old posts back? Rename it, change permaling and do the same procedure for the second post as well?November 8, 2020 at 12:34 pm #1259105Hi,
Thanks for the update. You don’t need to do anything with the first page I linked to, it was only a test, so you can delete it if you like. To replace the original post with the new one, then you would have to delete the old one and remove it from the trash as well, then edit the new post with the old post’s title and permalink.

RikardNovember 10, 2020 at 12:38 pm #1259539Hi,

MagnusNovember 11, 2020 at 6:37 am #1259769Hi Magnus,
Please see private. It seems to be the [toc] shortcode which is breaking the Layout Builder.

RikardNovember 11, 2020 at 12:45 pm #1259853Amazing. Thank you so much. Do you think I should deactivate/delete the Table of Contents Plus Plugin?
Thanks in advance you for your opinion.

MagnusNovember 12, 2020 at 12:04 pm #1260089Hi Magnus,
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure exactly how that plugin works, maybe you could try looking for an alternative if it’s breaking the Layout Builder? If you need further help with that, then please create a test page with only the shortcode in question on. Please note that out support for third party plugins is limited though.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 16, 2020 at 3:23 am #1267632Hi Support,
I have a similar issue. I go to edit any page on my client’s site and instead of being able to see the elements and edit the page I get the loading icon spinning and spinning.
This happens on every page.
I tested the plugins and there was no issue.
I tried changing the theme to 2019 and the problem resolved so it seems to be a theme related issue.I updated the enfold theme via FTP and then got the “critical error” message on the site.
Then I restored it. So back to the spinning wheel.I called the webhost and they say there was a recent update to php 7.4 – is there a issue there?
Any help is appreciated.
December 16, 2020 at 5:17 am #1267667Hi,
Can you give us the login link of your site? I tried the link in private content but it does not work so the login link I assume must be wrong.
Best regards,

December 16, 2020 at 9:30 am #1267714Hi yohanna16,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
The reason you’re having the issue is that you’re still using version: 3.6.1, the latest version is 4.7.6.4
The version you’re using still uses API key to update and it’s not possible to update via Theme Options.
Please backup your site first, then try to do the following steps:
1. Login to ThemeForest and download the Enfold theme, right-click over the downloaded zip file and extract/unzip it.
2. It should generate a new folder, open it and look for the enfold folder
3. Right-click the enfold folder then zip it, here’s a tutorial on how to create a zip file in windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/668409/how-to-zip-and-unzip-files-on-windows-10/ (this should create enfold.zip
4. Log in to WordPress as and Admin.
5. Install and activate a maintenance plugin and put your site in Maintenance mode.
6. Go to Appearance > Themes, switch to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty then delete Enfold.
7. Click on the ADD NEW button.
8. Click on the UPLOAD THEME button.
9. Click BROWSE and choose enfold.zip file
10. Click the INSTALL NOW button and switch to Enfold or your child theme.
11. Remove the maintenance mode then deactivate and remove the maintenance plugin.Best regards,
NikkoDecember 17, 2020 at 5:05 am #1267998Thanks!
