Hey experts,

on a new wordpress installation (via hoster) we have no Editor menu point for editing. I’m missing the entry Design / Editor completely.
I want do some changes and I couldn’t do that. The menu item Plugins / Editor is missing, too.
I have no idea why two complete Dashboard points are missing. Maybe faulty stylesheet. I don’t know.

PS:
If I try to control via url : domainname.de/wp-admin/theme-editor.php?file=footer.php&theme=enfold I get the Information that I don’t have the permission. In German: Du hast nicht die erforderlichen Rechte, um auf diese Seite zuzugreifen.

Can you please de-activate all active plugins and check if that helps?

Hey!

Can you please switch to one of the default themes and check if it works? I believe this is not a theme related issue but to make sure, please try switching themes :)

switching the default theme bring’s the same result. Nothing.

Hi!

Please check wp-config.php file on the root of your WordPress installation and check if you have following line
```
define('DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true);
```
If you have, please comment it out with // as following
```
//define('DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true);
```

I have checked the wp-config.php file on the root and there is no line called

define('DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true);

so nothing to comment out. Maybe the error comes because I use the click & build installation.

did you have another idea? Seemingly not so easy isn’t it?

I’m missing the entry Design / Editor completely.

I created a test page and the editor is completely ok. http://energie-kienbacher.de/wp-admin/post.php?post=3346&action=edit

If you’re referring to the menu panel, you can use this link: http://energie-kienbacher.de/wp-admin/nav-menus.php

I want do some changes and I couldn’t do that. The menu item Plugins / Editor is missing, too.

I was able to access the plugins panel as well: http://energie-kienbacher.de/wp-admin/plugins.php

no I have done it. Option Editor now exists.

define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, false);

works excellent.
