On editing my posts, pages or portfolio items I get the following very brief WordPress-warning: ‘A critical error has occurred on this site. Check your site administrator email inbox for instructions.’, after this the posts, pages or portfolio items go into editing mode as ususal. This occurs sinds about 4 months now. I can change the text and save without a problem. But if I do not change the text and want to return, the systems gives me a warning that I did not save the changes.
Now if I update the Enfold theme from 4.8.6.2 to 4.8.6.3 within the Enfold menu, I get a complete site crash. I get a mail from WordPress to log into in safe mode and I can change the theme to a twenty-twenty-one or restor ea backup and the site is running again.
Can you help me fixing the two problems?October 5, 2021 at 3:55 pm #1323664Hey,
Thanks for contacting us!
Could you please create temporary FTP and WP admin logins and post them here privately so we can look into it? Also, can we try updating the theme to the latest version 4.8.6.4?
Best regards,
YigitOctober 5, 2021 at 6:09 pm #1323681I am very curious to your findings on both problems. Could you please investigate them and informe me about your findings, before you update the theme to 4.8.6.4?
October 5, 2021 at 7:32 pm #1323689Hi Yigit, The reason why I would really appreciate you to start looking into the first problem first – the error message I get when I press edit post/page/portfolio-item – is because this could be a sign that there is a bigger problem in the Enfold-code or in my Enfold-settings, resulting into a website-crash when I update to the latest Enfold-version. I also searched for a cause and looking for a solution in the Enfold support topics, but could not find anything about this. As you can see, I have no customizations and common plugins. I like proven software. I wish you a sharp eye :-).

October 9, 2021 at 7:39 pm #1324233Hi,
Thank you for your patience and for the login, I did see the error but it is very quick so I could not investigate what is sending it, but I have not seen one like this before, I note that WordPress is giving you this warning: Your .htaccess file does not contain all recommended security headers.
so I would recommend looking at that and disabling your plugins, I also note that you are using PHP v8, try downgrading to the recommended v7.4Best regards,

Downgrading PHP to v7.4 solved both problems. Thanks for your help.
