Hi,
I have run into a problem with editing the site. My IT support says it is the ENFOLD template that is too old for the server PHP – however, it was working fine in July and is a new website.
When opening a page to edit it is just “hanging” and I cannot get anywhere. Any suggestions what this is?
And, is my IT support correct in the fact that ENFOLD is too old for new PHP servers?
I have 3 websites with ENFOLD that I need to keep current.

Thank you for the inquiry.
The theme should be compatible with the latest PHP versions (8.3 and above). The current site is running version 6.0.8, which is quite outdated. Please make sure that the theme is updated to version 7.1.3.

Thank you. Yes, we were experimenting with what to do to get it up and running again. However, it it still hanging at PHP 8.4 and i don’t understand what can make it hang. Also, is it true that this template is heavy to upload for people – if so, what can we do about it?

You are still running an old version of the theme. Please update to the latest version (7.1.3) of the theme first of all: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/.

We have updated to newest version, however, we still cannot edit – it still hangs.
Would you pls. go in with the userprofile you have to see what the matter is? Our IT support has spent 5 days trying to figure this out and cannot. So we hope you have a solution here.

Thank you for the inquiry.
We can reproduce the issue but we are not yet sure what is causing it. Have you tried increasing the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT from 40M to at least 256M? This is the recommended minimum for many modern themes and plugins including Enfold.
In the meantime, we recommend downgrading to PHP 8.3 and make sure that the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT is increased to 256M.
