Dear Kriesi,
I really like the the ability to easily add image slideshows in the layout editor with the EasySlider, but I am having problems with slow loading of longer slideshow sequences.
As I’m a photographer I want to use high quality images, and this means that when I add a sequence of 20+ images it can take many seconds before the first slide plays.
Is there a way to display the first image as soon as it loads, with the other images then playing after they have also loaded in the background, so the loading is done in a more intelligent way?
I’m concerned that my SEO is damaged due to slow loading pages, and I’m also finding that I cannot share links to Google+ because the pages take too long to load.

I understand your request, but unfortunately implementing this to the Easy Slider would require a deep modification to theme which is something we can’t cover. As an alternative, i found out that RevSlider has this option (lazy load), you could give it a try (it has built-in integration with Enfold).
