    Hello Kriesi team,

I am managing a lot of Enfold wordpress website so I decided to use the premium version of UpdraftPlus for backing up, UpdraftCentral to have an overview of all my website and both of these tools are working perfectly fine.
I have also bought the premium version of Easy Updates Manager extension which is working with both extension previously mentioned in order to keep everything up to date all the time.
However, it updates everything except Enfold.
Could you collaborate with https://easyupdatesmanager.com to make this work?
I can be your middle link if you want and send information to them as I have access to their support service.
I’d be glad to do some test for both of you to make that work for everybody who would be in the same situation as I do.

    Thank you for your assistance,

    Best Regards,
    Thatoo

    Hey Thatoo,

This is the first request we’ve had for compatibility with that plugin, so I’m not sure this is something we can spend much time on if there aren’t more than a few customers using it. Updating the theme through the backend will take you less that 2 minutes under normal circumstances.

    Best regards,

Yes but 2 minutes time the number of site time the number of enfold’s update a year makes easily a lot of time every year.
    Automatic update is
I am managing about 20 website using Enfold as Theme.
So 2 *20 = 40 minutes for each update of Enfold.

Easy Update Manager is the most used automatic update plugin on wordpress, it has over 100.000 active installations : https://wordpress.org/plugins/stops-core-theme-and-plugin-updates/
On top of that, Easy Update Manager is the ideal companion of UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin which has over 2 million active installations.

The update is blocked because of the Envato API. I guess the work has to be done by Easy Update Manager to implement it.
However, if you would contact and help them to integrate the API (as you know it better), the solution might be find faster and help your users.

    Thank you for hearing me,
Hoping you will accept to collaborate with Easy Update Manager, I send you my regards,

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, I’ll tag this topic for our developers. I doubt that we will manage to be compatible with this plugin in the near future though. Until then you will have to “waste” your time on manual updates.

I personally would never use automatic updates though, since that is the time when things are most likely to break on a WordPress site. I always update on a staging site first, to make sure that everything works out as expected. I try to follow a process like this.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

That looks like an ideal way to make updates indeed but not really matching real life of most situation.
Computing is supposed to make people less waste their time on repetitive tasks.
Updates (all themes and plugins included) happen every single days.

I really hope you’ll find some time (certainly much less than your customers are spending on updates) to co-work with Envato to solve this issue and help us to save time on such tasks.

    Thank you,

    Thatoo

PS : We trust you (and premium plugins devs) to deliver updates which are not going to break our wordpress website, we really do. Thnak you for your work.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, but I don’t agree with you at all. If you are serious about maintaining websites then you should spend time on making sure that they are ok after the updates are done. I’ve been supporting our customers for many years now and I know when most sites break – during updates. It doesn’t matter if our code is perfect, something always break on some customer sites. And the reason for that is very simple; most people have no idea how to properly maintain their sites. That is one of the reasons why companies like ours have to spend a lot of money and resources on support.

About your request; I’ve tagged this topic for our development team, I can’t say if or when we can be compatible with the plugin in question though.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
