Hi dear moderators,
I’ve got a question about updating the theme. I already had the same question over a year ago, but still have not found the solution.
I would like to update by a simple click instead of by FTP.
For the many Enfolds I have, it would safe some time etc if I could do it an eays way.
The instructions which I’ve read did not help me out.
I understood that it should be possible just from underneath the API key on the dashboard.
How can I fix this, so it would work by a simple click on the dashboard?June 4, 2018 at 6:44 am #966333Hey Els,
Automatic updates are not compatible with all server environments unfortunately. Did you make sure that your API key is correct? Please post admin login details in private if you want us to have a closer look at your site.
Best regards,

Thanks for you reply.
I always use the codes that are provided when I buy a lisence.
I assumed that these are the right codes.
Because the url I’ve send you is from a medical site, I can’t give you login codes for this. New law since May 25th…
But I have other sites with same issues.Hope to hear from you, kind regards,
Els

Best Regards,June 6, 2018 at 5:57 am #967644Hi,
Thanks for that. I see the problem that you don’t get update notifications. I also see an error message on the update page (in private), I’m not sure if that related, but the server is responding with a 403 error which means the connection is forbidden by the server. Maybe you could try contacting your hosting provider to see if they are blocking certain types of connections?

I’ve just had contact about this problem with the hosting. They will look into this. I’ll let you know if this gives a solution.
Kind regards,
Els

RikardJune 12, 2018 at 9:49 pm #971894I’ve had contact with my hosting. They do have a block on the server. The can make special settings for Enfold if the have the IP address of where the theme is uploaded from:
“What we would like to know is from which IP address or IP addresses the developers of your theme work, via which port and what actions are carried out on the server. If you can request this information from the developers of your theme, we would like to check for you whether it is possible to allow these actions on the server.” (Google tanslate)
Is this possible?
Beacause I have quite some Enfold and want to keep on using them for future websites, it would be a nice solution for me.Kind regards,
Els
June 14, 2018 at 5:41 am #972613Hi Els,
The theme updates are being served from http://api.envato.com/, I don’t have much more info than that unfortunately. Could you give that information to your host to see if that is enough for them?
Thanks,
Rikard -
