Hi, is it possible to have an easyslider with responsive height to scale images to display window height (rather than the current responsive width cropping the image height)?
Thanks
StevenJuly 20, 2015 at 3:59 pm #475900Hi Steven!
You can use a fullwidth Easy Slider with the below settings to acheive what you’re looking for:

DakeJuly 20, 2015 at 4:49 pm #475941Hi Dake, thanks for the quick response. I’m unable to place that fullwidth slider into the color section with 75% window height in the page layout.
Is it possible to have any slider scale images to the height of the div or section?
Cheers
StevenJuly 20, 2015 at 6:28 pm #476009Hey!
I’m unable to log into your actual backend to take a closer look, but I can confirm that your current slider scales accordingly to the browser height. Alternatively you can use the full width slider and edit you images to be the exact max width of the website and adjust the height that you would like it to maintain using the settings in my previous screenshot.
Best regards,
DakeJuly 20, 2015 at 8:15 pm #476092Hi Dake, the login details I provided will get you into the backend. The current slider I am using crops the images and does not scale them.
Basically my client wishes to see all of their images in a slider in the top part of their website regardless of the height of the browser display.
Can you please try logging in to check if this is possible.
Thanks
StevenJuly 20, 2015 at 8:35 pm #476119Hey!
In that case you can use a full screen slider like this test page here:
Just in case you didn’t already know. Your current copy of enfold is out of date.

July 21, 2015 at 4:03 pm #476582Hi Dake,
Thanks for the test but unfortunately a full screen slider doesn’t place into the color section either. You can see what we wish to achieve on this site: http://www.chanel.com/en_GB/
If you reduce height of your browser window you will see the whole image retains its proportions and fits to height.
Is it possible to have a slider in a color section to resize in a similar way?
StevenJuly 21, 2015 at 5:57 pm #476657Hey!
Ahh I see what you mean now.
It is possible but you are going to need to hire a freelance developer to have it implemented on your installation.
You can also make a feature request here – https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
Cheers!
DakeJuly 21, 2015 at 6:04 pm #476659Okay, I will have a think about the costs associated with that.
Is it possible to center the image vertically rather than it cutting off the bottom?
Thanks
StevenJuly 22, 2015 at 10:50 am #476965Hey!
You can try the Content Slider. Use images with the same size and proportion.
Cheers!
IsmaelJuly 23, 2015 at 3:27 am #477460Hi Ismael, thanks for the suggestion – unfortunately that didn’t work either http://christianmacleod.com/aastonmartin-3
As an alternative, is it possible to have the slider images center aligned or aligned from bottom (rather than top)?
Cheers
StevenJuly 28, 2015 at 6:56 am #479465Hey!
What is the purpose of the “bg-ghost-area”? The slider section looks OK when I checked the page.
Regards,
IsmaelJuly 28, 2015 at 10:37 am #479578The bg-ghost-area is so the bottom section slides over the top section (rather than a normal scroll) click SHOP COLLECTION to view.
We would like to have a slider that resizes images to the window height but if that’s not possible we would like the images to be centred vertically so they crop top and bottom if the browser window height is smaller.
Thanks
StevenJuly 29, 2015 at 8:11 am #480058Hi!
I’m sorry but I don’t see a SHOP COLLECTION link or button anywhere on the page. The slider is responsive when I checked it so I’m really not sure what you’re trying to do here. It behaves pretty much the same as the slider on this site: http://www.chanel.com/en_GB/
Can you please provide a screenshot of the issue?
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 29, 2015 at 2:12 pm #480224Sorry, this page scroll link is ‘SHOP CHRISTIAN MACLEOD’
If you change your browser window height in http://www.chanel.com/en_GB/ you will see the images are responsive to the browser height.
If you look at http://christianmacleod.com/aastonmartin-3 the images are not responsive to the window height and get cropped.
You can view a screenshot of both sites here: http://christianmacleod.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Image-galleries.jpg
We require the images not to be cropped.
Thanks
StevenJuly 30, 2015 at 1:56 pm #480683Hi!
The slider images resize correctly but you have this css code which breaks the default layout of the color section.
#home-images-section { position: fixed; }
I assumed this code is needed to create a fixed background effect.
Regards,
IsmaelJuly 31, 2015 at 11:57 am #481269Hi Ismael, I tried removing that code but the images still only resize to browser width and still get cropped to browser height.
If that’s not possible to resize the images, is it possible to have the images centred vertically in the slider? And to centre the slider vertically in the top color section (not at the top see the image – http://christianmacleod.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_0330.png)?
Thanks
StevenAugust 3, 2015 at 3:26 pm #482140Hi!
Wordpress is cropping by default when uploading images. You can control this by using a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
If you want to control your image for different browser sizes then you would need to work with media queries:
@media only screen and (max-width: 736px) { .aston-slider { width: 55%; }}
Adjust the (max-width)-value and the width-value as needed.
Cheers!
AndyAugust 4, 2015 at 1:41 am #482468Thanks Andy,
We wish to see the full height of the images – currently narrow (laptop browser) windows crop images from the bottom.
We also wish for the centre the slider vertically – currently taller (portrait ipad) windows position the slider at the top of the page.
Are either of these possible with the theme’s layout elements and media elements?
Cheers
StevenAugust 10, 2015 at 3:52 pm #485409Hi, i have Fullwidth Easy Slider and everything is perfect except of pagespeed score only at mobile version of my site http://www.omonoiafruit.gr.
I have 1310×524 px images compressed, no scaling and no stretch image selected. On mobile version pagespeed suggest the use of cropped images instead of full size to save MB.
Is any way to select cropped images for mobile version of Fullwidth Easy Slider and full size images for PC version ?Thank You!
August 11, 2015 at 1:34 pm #485919Hi!
@bleepstudio
There is no easy solution for this and here I give you a tutorial on how you could achieve that: https://css-tricks.com/crop-top/
If you need help on this it would be considered as custom work and you can hire a freelancer for this job here: http://kriesi.at/contact/customization
@reset4
Please open a new ticket for your question instead of bumping in another person’s thread.
You could try to build two fullwidth easy sliders (one for desktop and one for mobile) and hide the on another using media queries.Cheers!
