Hello,
I am having problems with the easy slider. I have two sites and both have problems with the images in the sliders.
I want to display images either 1500 x 430 or 300 x 300 and if the images are not exactly those sizes it won’t resize them. It shows the image without scaling and when they are different sizes it looks terrible!
What can I do?I tried the regenerate thumbnails plugin and it dowsn’t work.
My sites are lares.tailanian.com and emisivo.tailanian.com
Thanks for your help
February 27, 2015 at 8:40 am #403242Hey Larestours!
Thank you for using Enfold.
I checked the site but I don’t see any easy sliders. Please give us a link to the actual page. So.. you’re trying to add images with 1500x1500px and 300x300px? Is that correct or I didn’t understand you clearly? I don’t think they will look pretty in any kind of slider. Use images with the same size or proportion.

http://emisivo.tailanian.com/ on the homepage below the accordion slider. This is a small slider 300 x 300 but I don-t want to reduce the size of the images to 300×300 because I want people to click on the image and display a larger image.

http://lares.tailanian.com/portfolio-item/self-driving-adventures/

and many more… all the portfolio items have a slider. In this one http://lares.tailanian.com/punta-del-este-food-wine-festival/ there are images if different sizes and it looks bad.
In most sliders I try to make the images of the same size as the slider 1500 x 430 but it would be nice if the images that are not exactly that size got resized to fin in the slider.
Thank you
March 1, 2015 at 7:29 am #404019Hi!
If you set the Slideshow Image Size to 1500x430px, you need to upload images that are larger than that specification. WordPress can’t increase the size of the images uploaded. It can only create smaller version of the thumbnails.

There is still the problem of
http://emisivo.tailanian.com/ on the homepage below the accordion slider. This is a small slider 300 x 300 but I don-t want to reduce the size of the images to 300×300 because I want people to click on the image and display a larger image. How can I solve this?

I’m not sure what you are trying to do with the slider do you want to make it larger or smaller? Also, as far as I can see, if you click one of the pictures they open up to display a larger image.

RikardMarch 3, 2015 at 4:01 pm #405189Hi Rikard,
Please take a look at the slider. It is supposed to display the images in a 300 x 300 size (square). There are 3 slides there, 1 shows up correctly (the pyramid) the other two appear rectangular and push all the content below when they appear. I would like the slides to be all the same size (square), Isn’t the slider supposed to do this automatically?
Many thanks
March 4, 2015 at 8:58 am #405623Hi!
No because that would mean that content in your image would be cut, a rectangle cannot become a square without cutting some of the rectangles content. I think you are better off cropping the images yourself to the size you want them to be.
Cheers!
RikardMarch 4, 2015 at 4:21 pm #405839Hi Rikard,
It doesn’t matter that the image is cut. I can’t crop it because it would appear cut when I open it. I want the image in the slider to appear square even if a chunk is missing so that when the person clicks on it appears whole.
I’ve seen threads with people with the same issue but the replies are private so I couldn’t find help there.
Thank you for your help.
March 5, 2015 at 8:47 am #406264Hey!
Maybe a screenshot describing what you’re after will help. Square images or any images inside a full width or accordion slider are automatically stretched via css to fill the whole slider container..

Here is another slide that appears rectangular. The actual size is 752 × 1015

March 6, 2015 at 2:47 pm #406986Hey!
Alright. So you don’t care if the images are cut as long as they are square in the slider? Set the Slideshow Image Size to the Shop Catalog (450x450px). If it doesn’t work, install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
Go to Settings > Media panel. Look for the square size thumbnail, set the width and height to 300px. Update then save changes. Regenerate the thumbnails after. Go back to the easy slider element, set the Slideshow Image Size to Square.
Cheers!
