I want to show a single picture from a gallery (formatted in a way to make it look like an album), and when a user clicks on it, I want it to show all pictures in the pretty photo lightbox.
I was thinking maybe this could be done by doing a slider, grid, masonry, etc– and then using css to show only 1 photo.
I was looking at using Nextgen, but with them, too, there is not a simple way to go directly to the lightbox from an album.
Create the galleries with the Gallery element in a different Page, then post the link here.

I just a noticed an issue with this solution. If I have 3 images in the gallery, then doing this cover photo will add a 4th in the lightbox. I figured out I can delete the image from the gallery and all will work okay, but is there a way to have this cover image trigger the lightbox, but not add a picture to it?
That should work fine, but if you are planning to have multiple albums/galleries in the same page i think it may need some adjusting, have you tried it in that environment?
