Noticed the theme was generating all these files. It has consumed 16gb and growing but the actual media uploaded is only 4GB. The permissions for the folder is 777. Is there some way we can stop the theme from doing this and consuming so much data?

August 7, 2020 at 2:23 pm #1236003Hey hizzacked,
This is a bug with Enfold 4.7.5 and below with some servers and has been fixed in Enfold 4.7.6
Please update it to the latest version and just delete the dynamic_avia folder and then save the Enfold Theme Options to regenerate it.
Hope this helps.Best regards,
NikkoAugust 13, 2020 at 4:45 pm #1237475Thanks for the response! I’ll give it a try. I’m looking around for ‘Enfold Theme Options” is that just the area where you go Appearance > Themes > Enfold > Customize?
August 13, 2020 at 6:30 pm #1237525Hi hizzacked,
No, you should see Enfold (should be placed above Appearance, and also below Comments in the sidebar), that’s the Enfold Theme Options.
Best regards,
NikkoAugust 13, 2020 at 7:56 pm #1237548OH der. Yes, okay I will try this out and report back if it doesn’t work. Thanks so much for your help!
August 14, 2020 at 8:14 am #1237703Hi hizzacked,
You’re welcome :)
If that doesn’t work, then in Enfold Theme Options, go to Performance, check Show advanced options then set Unique timestamp of merged files and WP object cache bug to Fix WP bug, disable unique timestampsBest regards,
NikkoAugust 15, 2020 at 8:08 pm #1238044Hey again!
So we went ahead and applied this upgrade and followed the method you explained to multiple websites that we own, and every website and instance of wordpress worked flawlessly, except for ONE of our sites. There seems to be missing some of the layout building elements when editing pages (the options that appear on the side, for sidebars and footers and headers, this box of options is missing) so the layout of the site is looking pretty wack. The fonts are looking weird too, so I think something must have been broken during the process. Here’s the message I got from the guy doing the upgrades and I was wondering if you had any idea what could have happened.
“We are encountering an error after upgrading from 4.5 to 4.7.6.2. A number of layout options are not available after the upgrade. We have been using enfold on other sites and do not have this issue however we have not done a major upgrade like we did as written previously. Is there a version upgrade path we must follow?
Please note we are running on WP 5.5. Thanks.”
I’m also happy to make you a login for the website, please see my message in the private content box.
Thanks so much for your help so far!
August 17, 2020 at 6:31 am #1238363Hi hizzacked,
Are all those websites in the same webhost? I’m assuming that
Some things to consider maybe the difference in PHP version (but highly unlikely reason but there’s a possibility)
Also consider the plugins, and finally cache which I think is most likely the cause of the issue, it could be a caching plugin or an internal caching provided by the webhost.Best regards,
NikkoMarch 21, 2024 at 5:25 pm #1437793Thank you for this article.
Is it safe to delete the huge # of files in that folder or would that cause an issue?
Thanks
CcMarch 21, 2024 at 6:30 pm #1437805Hi madisonstudios1,
It should be safe to do so, but please create a backup of your site before you delete anything. Also make sure to save the theme options after you have deleted the files, so that the theme resources will regenerate.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 21, 2024 at 6:54 pm #1437813Thank you. I deleted all of the repeated files except the last two days and the website is loading fine. I also did the advanced options on the WP bug as the article shows. I will do this on all my Enfold sites. I selected the DELETE OLD CSS and JS to YES at the bottom of that page and clicked SAVE.
Thanks again!
