Hi Enfold Support,
Currently having some issues with the magazine and post slider elements that were previously operating normally. On our home page we have a magazine element set to not allow duplicate posts so that it doesn’t pull the same posts we are using in a separate element – even if they may share a taxonomy / category. The posts we want in the magazine element are full-fledged articles – while the posts we want in the post slider are simple Fact or Fiction/eCards with brief copy.
The post slider element that does need to receive the eCards is set to to “deactivate offset” so that it has priority for them. Desirably, the magazine element is not supposed to display these posts if they are being pulled for the post slider. This worked successfully in the past, and is even working for a separate post slider that shows video articles that share a taxonomy / category with posts in magazine – just not these two. Currently, the magazine element is duplicating the posts now even though it wasn’t before. They appear in both the magazine and the post slider.
If all elements are set to “do not allow duplicate… (set offset number automatically)” – then the magazine element pulls these posts / seems to have priority and doesn’t allow them to appear in the post slider. We would prefer they only show in the post slider, and not the magazine.
Somewhat difficult to describe, let me know if I can clarify.
Thanks very much!

Thank you for using Enfold.
We can’t reproduce the issue on our installation. The offset is working as expected. Make sure that you’re using the latest version of the theme, 3.0.8. Why not create a special category for the post slider called “ecards” for example? Select this category instead of showing all categories.

Seemed to have encountered another glitch – when checking the Theme Updates tab, it says our theme is up-to-date. However, it says we are running 3.0.4 – you mention 3.0.8. Image here:
Checked and updated manually, but issue still exists.
We use the categories as they are to ensure that both the eCards and the regular blog posts appear in our masonry blog, which is set to create a taxonomy based on only these six categories: Nutrition, Sleep, Activity, Stress, Breathing, Meditation. Thus, we have to tag the eCards with at least one of these categories to have them appear in the blog. This is why we want to keep the offset pulling posts for the magazine and post slider as it was (magazine gets regular articles, post slider pulling eCards with priority and no duplicates), as opposed to going back and changing either the blog taxonomy, or the categories of every eCard. We shouldn’t have duplicate posts on this page at all with the current settings – which lends to our general confusion.
We are aware we could do a work-around – and change the blog taxonomy to include eCards to fix the issue, but would rather keep it simple as is. It worked in the past, which is why we are saddened we will have to adjust our site based on a new issue we are experiencing.
Warmly,

It still says your using the latest version when clicking on the “Check manually” link? Perhaps there is a typo in the key information.
Try completely deleting Enfold from your WordPress theme directory and then download + upload a fresh copy from themeforest. See here for uploading via FTP, http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/update-theme-files-with-ftp/.

ElliottFebruary 17, 2015 at 8:19 pm #397764Hi Elliot,
How can we remove Enfold from WordPress without compromising our whole website? We spent months designing and customizing each page and feature. Removing the theme from WordPress would leave us without a functioning site — even temporarily that is not okay as we have a business to run with visitors, users, and customers that rely on us. If there is a way to do this without compromising the site, please talk us through it step by step.
* Note, We have already auto-updated. Not sure why it’s not being reflected in the version number. Also, this wasn’t happening until recently — not sure why this bug suddenly presented. We are having some other issues as well as posts not publishing when they are scheduled. Is this latter issue theme related or WordPress related? Either way, we need your detailed help on the first issue with a solution that doesn’t require rebuilding or having it inactive for long. Please talk us through it!
Thanks!

I think you have to purge the plugin cache. Also, it looks like the site is subscribed to MAXCDN. Purge the cache there. You can update the theme files via FTP: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/update-theme-files-with-ftp/
Cheers!
