Hi there,
I know it’s possible to insert certain blog posts into whatever page you wish using your blog builder feature. What I’m wondering though is if it is possible to have my sidebar widgets such as Categories and Recent Posts reflect their appropriate blog page.
For example;
Blog A shows all posts, comments and categories related to Dogs & Cats
Blog B shows all posts, comments and categories related to Cows & horsesWhen I tried creating the 2 blogs it worked perfectly but I was unable to find a way to filter my widgets within the sidebar to reflect to their specific blog page.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to a response!
October 19, 2015 at 9:41 pm #521204I am also wanting to use the Recent Posts Widget, but would like to assign specific post categories to it. How do I do that? Thank you.

As you are creating custom pages for each page, are you also assigning different sidebar areas?
Cheers!

Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.
Thanks,
RikardOctober 20, 2015 at 3:53 pm #521749Sure thing, please find my log-in info in the private content.
On my website I need 2 blogs.
One is called “What’s new” containing of categories such as company news, product launches etc.
The other is called “Education” where we will have “How-to-Videos, etc” of all the product lines. I have specified different categories for this blog.
The blogs work perfectly and I have 2 different sidebars assigned. But ALL categories are showing in each respected Blogs Category widget .
Thanks again for looking into this!
October 21, 2015 at 6:46 am #522138Hi,
Thanks for the details, just to be clear on what you are looking to do here because I’m not sure I understand anymore; on the one blog page you want only on category to show up in the sidebar and the same for the other one but another category, correct?
Thanks,
RikardOctober 21, 2015 at 2:36 pm #522320Hi Rickard,
I’m simply attempting to create 2 blogs that have their own specific categories. I have created 2 different sidebars (One for my actual blog and another for our Education section) but the same categories show in each blog sidebar. The “Recent Posts” widget works correctly as it only pulls from their respected Blog but all categories are showing which I do not want. The user should only be able to select categories related to the blog that they are on.
I hope this helps clear things up a little bit!
October 22, 2015 at 6:28 pm #523207Hey!
this does not seem to be a theme related question to me and more a general WordPress one. That’s why I suggest to ask in general WordPress forum about such a function. Maybe they have a hint for you.
Regards,
AndyOctober 23, 2015 at 1:40 pm #523781Hey there,
No problem. I thought it may be a theme related problem as we’re able to insert the “Blog Posts” into the page builder on any given page. I guess it isn’t meant to update the category widget to display the correct categories on each specific page.
Appreciate you looking into this anyways!
Cheers
