I put in a request yesterday and this this the second time I come in the next day and my question is not under my started topics section.

I’ve been using Enfold theme for about 10 years now. I’ve learned a lot, but I’m still a layperson and I’m really struggling with page speed. Is there any way somebody can come in and try to help me out? The speed on my. desktop is great. It’s the mobile that is very slow.
I’m not sure what the best settings are. And just requesting some personalized advice, if at all possible.

    Thank you .

    Hey extraeyes,

Which service are you using to measure the speed of your site, and what is the URL of your site?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I am using several of them. Pingdom, Page Speed Insights, and I forgot the one my host used when they ran a speed test. I asked for their help and they only sent me links of things to read. http://www.photomagx.com

Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. I sent you login credentials on another ticket about my H3 not working just now. I am not sure if I would need to put them up for you in this ticket to check my settings?

    thank you.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. Did you try following the suggestions listed in the test in private?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1436416

Yes, I did. I have reduced many image sizes and still reducing more of them. But I am a layperson and do not know what all the other things mean, hence asking for help. What size should the images be ideally for the 1/5th 1/4 and 1/3 elements??
I have put in the regenerate plug-in in but unsure how to set it or if this is what I need to do to fix one of the things on the list provided by the speed test.

    Hi,

You could try using images that are roughly 800 pixels wide, or a bit less, in 1/3-4-5 elements, since those images will go full width on mobile.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thank you!! I will continue to reduce the larger images to this size. Have a great day!! I have a lot of images.. lots of work.. thank you..

Is that the only way? I have 1800 images on 300-plus pages that would have to be replaced.

Any advice on the other items in the page speed results as to settings in Enfold, maybe? Or anything else?

    thank you

    Hi,

There’s no automatic way of replacing images in the Layout Builder unfortunately, you would have to do it manually.

Let us know if you should need any further help once you are done with the images, we could try to help you out point by point.

    Best regards,

Sorry. I was not clear. Is there any other way to speed up the pages Is what I meant Besides reducing thousands of images? In your response of March 5th, you asked if I did any of those things on the page speed test suggestions And I explained that I didn’t understand them. Can you please Help me with some of them or anything at all that is simple? I have reduced A few hundred images, which took me several days. This slowdown only happened recently, even with the full-size images.

What about the settings and Enfold theme? Just anything to help me, please, if you can. Maybe I have them set wrong?

    Thank you..

    ON TOP OF THAT…
I can’t figure out these broken links for the life of me. Could this be related to the slow speed?

    Hi,

First file – did you upload a custom icon font maybe? If so, then you could try to delete the font in question in the Iconfont Manager under Enfold->Import/Export

The two other files – that is a default WordPress file, you could try to disable access to it by following this: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-disable-xml-rpc-in-wordpress/

Speeding up your site – you will need to be a bit more specific as to what you need help with, we could try to help you point by point. There are explainations in the Google page speed test though, and I’m not sure if we can explain it better than they can.

    Best regards,

UH HO… So I deleted the one I saw located under the default font. I made a copy of it. It was in my image gallery. I think it was icons I was trying to upload. It contained the wolf2 on the one that had the backlink broken. I did this probably ten years ago so I have no clue what I did.

But now I made it worse.
I get all of these. when I click them they all go to this page: https://photomagx.com/pamela-goodyer/
    Should I reupload it?

    THANK YOU.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I checked that page, but I can’t see any 404 errors, did you manage to fix it? If not, then where exactly are you seeing the 404 errors?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

These are showing up on the broken backlink checker. QUESTION ONE: Should I worry about this? Should I reupload what I removed? It did not seem to work since no icons showed up when I uploaded it.
QUESTION TOW: Are there any theme settings that will help resolve some of the issues on the page speed test?

I have my page speed on the desktop down to one second and on page one of Google’s many pages. Those same pages will not even show in the search results on the phone. Loading in 5-7 seconds is the cause of not ranking WHAT ENFLOLD SETTINGS will help with this.

I don’t understand Google’s explanation on their pages. If I cannot fix this, guessI will have to spend a ton of money to hire someone. I do not trust anyone to do this

Anything you can do to help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

I still can’t see any missing files in the browser, so I’m not sure how exactly you are seeing broken links to the files in question. You can try uploading the file in question again though.

The theme as settings for speed and compression under Enfold->Performance, you can try out different settings to see what works and what doesn’t.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
