I setup those plugins per an article that Cloudflare provided. All 3 seem to do some sort of optimizing/minification/compression. Currently have Brotli enabled on Cloudflare, and Gzip enabled on W3, but I am waiting to hear if I should only use one.
I need to know if Enfold > Performance > File Compression should be enabled, or if that will duplicate things being done by the above 3?
Thanks!

The file compression in the theme should combine CSS and JS files into one file each, the plugins you mentioned are likely to do the same, so you don’t need to activate that functionality in the plugins.

July 18, 2019 at 5:49 am #1119777Hi,
I can’t say exactly how those plugins work unfortunately, but since you are optimising your site for speed then I would advice you to simply check what settings work best for your site. You can check this article on advice for checking WordPress performance and page load speed.

RikardJuly 18, 2019 at 5:56 am #1119780Thanks. I use all of those . . .that’s where I’m seeing the problem with TTFB that led me to trying to figure out what is going on. My site is too small and simple to be having a 500ms ttfb. One of the sites says that it is likely a technical issue with my site, so I think I need to look at the theme, my server and my plugins.

July 18, 2019 at 7:26 am #1119812Hi,
You can try troubleshooting by disabling plugins to see if the issue resolves. If it does, then there may be a plugin using excessive resources.

Jordan ShannonJuly 19, 2019 at 10:33 pm #1120357I disabled everything and the TTFB went up to over a second.
I had already tried disabling all but W3 total cache and autoptimize, and everything except one of those, and both of those off but wp super cache on, and it was still 750ms (so the caching plugins help, but even with all other plugins off, the ttfb is nearly a second).
Other ideas of what may be happening if it’s not plugins?

July 20, 2019 at 6:32 am #1120387FINALLY!!!! After MONTHS of going round and round with my dang host, which everybody was saying the issue seemed to be my server, EXCEPT them . . . they kept saying “it’s the plugins,” or “it’s the theme,” or “its the CDN” . . . they finally relented and changed me to a closer server . . . BAM! My TTFB goes instantly from F to A.
I’m nearly convinced they wanted me to purchase dedicated hosting. Maybe not, but wow, that took too long.
I did learn a lot. Y’all were very patient as I tried to figure this out. Thank you!
