Disabling of template builder elements

Hi, I was building my site and all of a sudden I got a couple messages show up on my portfolio page
“This element was disabled in your theme settings. You can activate it here: Performance Settings”
Not sure why the messages appeared as I didn’t do anything, I was simply adding products to a portfolio.

I looked on the forum to resolve this and found that going to the Performance section I needed to select “Disabling of template builder elements” and select “always load all template elements”…though it says on the site this is not recommended. So now I’m worried the site will have issues. Is this another bug with the theme? Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.
