    Is there a way to disable the sidebar navigation (that shows the child pages) on just one or two pages without using CSS? I thought there should have been a way with custom sidebars and widgets but can’t seem to figure it out.

    No, there’s no option to disable the sidebar navigation on specific pages yet. You need to use CSS.
