Main Menu > General > Display As Icon
“Choose how you want to display the menu items on desktop computers. If you choose to display the “burger” icon on desktop computers it will also be used on tablets and mobile devices”
When I turn the hamburger menu on for desktop it moves the hamburger menu over so far to the right that you can’t see it on a mobile device unless you turn it landscape.
If I turn the hamburger menu off for desktop, then the hamburger appears again on mobile.
The hamburger menu works perfectly on mobile until I enable the hamburger menu for desktop, then there is a problem with mobile. I left it with a problem so you can see. See link below.
Please advise,
Jas
August 3, 2022 at 7:50 am #1360426Hey Jasmer,
Thank you for the inquiry.
The burger menu is not visible on mobile devices or on smaller screens because the border color of the menu lines is the same as the background color of the header (white). To fix the issue, please add this css code.
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { #top .header_color .av-hamburger-inner, #top .header_color .av-hamburger-inner::before, #top .header_color .av-hamburger-inner::after { background-color: #808080; } }
You may need to toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings after adding the css code. And please do not forget to purge the cache.
Best regards,
IsmaelAugust 3, 2022 at 8:20 am #1360430That is what I thought, but then I turn the phone in landscape position and you can see the burger menu.
It appears then the color is set to a grey and I can see it.
Again, if I disable “show burger menu on desktop” then the problem goes away. If I enable it, it appears to send the burger menu further to the right out of view on portrait orientation.
Please turn your phone in landscape and you’ll see.
Thank you,
Jas

August 6, 2022 at 2:22 pm #1360913Hi,
Thanks for the link to your site, for mobile portrait this css is giving the burger menu a white background color:
I linked to the file below, it looks like the cached version of your child theme stylesheet.
Please try removing it or adding this to override it:@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { #top .header_color .av-hamburger-inner, #top .header_color .av-hamburger-inner::before, #top .header_color .av-hamburger-inner::after { background-color: #808080; } }
Another possibility is that this white background color was chosen in the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Advanced Styling or in the Enfold Theme Options ▸ General Styling
but I was not able to reproduce it on my test site, I did test Ismael’s css on your site by injecting it and it does work, please give it a try.Best regards,
MikeAugust 6, 2022 at 11:47 pm #1360953Hi Mike,
You and Ismael were correct. I changed the background color and it appeared.
However:
It appears almost in the middle of the top of the screen. Why? That is an odd place for a menu. It should be near flush right – not floating around in the middle.
This issue happened when I changed the following: “Choose how you want to display the menu items on desktop computers. If you choose to display the “burger” icon on desktop computers it will also be used on tablets and mobile devices”
When I turn the hamburger menu on for desktop it moves the hamburger menu from the right where it should be to nearly the center. How do I place the hamburger menu where it should be in portrait WITHOUT changing the position in landscape view?
Thanks so much,
Jas
August 7, 2022 at 12:05 am #1360961Hi,.
Glad to hear this helped, please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can help place the burger menu to the right for your mobile device.Best regards,
MikeAugust 7, 2022 at 12:11 am #1360962Great thanks!
Please let me know how you did it.
Also worth mentioning, in portrait mode the social icons cannot be seen, which is ok, no problem, it would be too crowded. I just wanted to mention it.
In landscape you can see social icons which is also ok.
Thanks,
Jas
August 7, 2022 at 4:25 pm #1361004Hi,
Glad to hear this helped, the social icons are not designed to be seen on mobile portrait because as you pointed out “it would be too crowded” this is done with css if anyone wants to show them crowded
unless there is anything else we can help with on this issue, shall we close this then?Best regards,
MikeAugust 7, 2022 at 7:04 pm #1361008Well yes, above you said…
“Please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can help place the burger menu to the right for your mobile device.”
And my response was…
Great thanks! Please let me know how you did it.
So can you do it? Move the burger menu to the right? Instead of floating around the middle in portrait mode. It’s still the same as it was. It hasn’t moved.
Thanks, Jas
August 7, 2022 at 10:29 pm #1361023Hi,
Sorry my mistake, please try this css:@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .responsive #top #wrap_all .main_menu { right: -120px; } }
After applying the css, please clear your browser cache and check.
Best regards,
