Hi there,
I am a newbie to WP and the Enfold theme. I have loaded Enfold and imported the Small Business – Flat Demo however when I try to edit the pages ( all of them appear to be there as per the demo layout) all I get is the Avia Layout Builder.
I assumed that I would get the demo layout etc and all I would need to do is enter my details in the them and hey presto… easy.
Is my assumption incorrect? Happy to be corrected as this is a new learning experience for me.
I’m not trying to set up a massive site just a relatively simple one for my new business.
Cheers
SimonDecember 22, 2015 at 2:40 am #556265Hi Simon!
I’m not really sure what you were expecting but when you import the demo it’s going to import all of the demo pages into your own installation so you can edit them. All of the demo pages use the layout builder.
Cheers!
ElliottDecember 22, 2015 at 11:33 am #556438Thanks Elliott,
I must be doing something wrong. The demo pages are there and I can view them but when I try to edit them I cant see the layout to change, it is as if I am starting from scratch with the Avia builder.
When I set up my other WP site (my first ever one – http://www.ksconnectltd.co.uk) using a different theme (sorry) I edit the pages by clicking on Pages on the left menu, and then editing the selected page. I can see all the widgets and can add rows etc etc. This is probably a very basic site (due to my inexperience lol) but is easy for me to update.
I had another site done by a developer (http:www.chezbarsi.com) which I now support myself. Whilst more complicated I can usually find all the content I need to when updating it plus I have added my own content based on the functionality available.
With Enfoid, I just can’t find the content to edit. I know the demo has loaded as I can see it when entering the url in IE but when it comes to editing it I am having no luck at all. I know it must be there I just cant find it………..
Hope this all makes sense as I am certainly no expert so all help greatly appreciated :)
Cheers

Take a screenshot and highlight what is going on so we can get a better idea.

ElliottDecember 29, 2015 at 3:51 pm #558112HI Elliott,
I hope you had a great Christmas.
Screen shot details below……
When looking at the KSConnect examples I go to the list of pages (KSConnect example.jpg) and when editing the Communicate page I can see the editable rows and widgets (KSConnect example 1.jpg) which I can change and update as required. A theme is loaded but no demo applied.
When looking at the the SJCInformatics examples I can see the list of pages (SJCInformatics example.jpg) in the Enfold theme but when I edit the page I cant find anything to edit (SJCInformatics example 1.jpg

SimonDecember 30, 2015 at 2:34 am #558333Hi!
It looks like a plugin is messing it up. What happens when you deactivate all plugins?

ElliottDecember 30, 2015 at 10:07 am #558390Morning Elliott,

ElliottDecember 31, 2015 at 6:08 pm #558731Hi Elliott,
I have set up an administrator login for http://www.sjcinformatics.co.uk/wp-admin . Details below.
Have a grreat New Year!
SimonDecember 31, 2015 at 9:39 pm #558748Hi!
If the problem is happening on ksconnectltd then why give us a login for sjcinformatics? I logged in anyway but didn’t see any issues. The layout builder is functioning fine. I didn’t see anything that resembles your screenshots.
Are you wanting us to import one of the demos first and then check?
Best regards,

January 4, 2016 at 11:31 am #559103Hi Elliott,
Sorry but the confusion is yours. I have been quite cear that KSConnect is an example of the first WordPress site that I set up (22nd Dec message) and that the problem is with the SJCInformatics site. I have also been very clear, right from my first message, that I have already imported a demo – (Small Business – Flat) but I cannot see how to edit it. I also told you on the 30th December that I had reset WP and reloaded the demo so I think it is clear that my problem is being unable to see the demo pages to edit.
Also the screen shots reflect exactly what the problem is i.e. I can only see the layout builder whereas I thought I should have been able to see the demo pages that I could then edit.
If you deactivate Maintenance mode and look at http://www.sjcinformatics.co.uk the demo is displayed so it has defintiely imported successfully but when trying to edit the pages I cannot see the demo data to change to my business set up.
Cheers
SimonJanuary 4, 2016 at 10:36 pm #559545Hi!
Hi Simon,
As I understand all you need is a good starting point to get to know how to setup the pages.
I would suggest to you to take a look at
https://vimeo.com/channels/aviathemes
http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/This should help you get to know the Avia Layout Builder and how to play with the demo content.

VinayJanuary 6, 2016 at 3:29 pm #560564Hi Vinay,
Thanks for the guidance however it does not resolve my problem. I know how to edit pages ad I know how to create them from scratch. My problem as I have stated previously is that I have imported a demo which I can see when I enter the url for my site: http://www.sjcinformatics.co.uk and I can play around with the Enfold settings however I cannot seem to edit the content of the demo e.g. change the header or replace the filler text with my own.
I am very frustrated that no-one there seem to be able to understand the problem. I dont want to build a site from scratch I want to be able to use the demo as a starting point. I dont know if you have used the user id that I set up for Elliott to access the site but if you do you will see that if you try to edit the frontpage all yu get is the Avia page builder. Where is the content from the demo which is what I expect to see.
Please help as this is very frustrating. I accept that I may be doing something wrong, I just need a pointer in the right direction.
Cheers

January 7, 2016 at 6:54 am #561016Hi,
Sorry but I’m having trouble understand your problem here, editing the content with the builder seems to work just fine when I try it out. I changed the first header on your front page to demonstrate. Could you try to explain a bit further what you are having trouble with please?
In case you have missed it you edit an element in the builder by hovering it and then clicking the paper/pen (the one furthest to the right) symbol which will be visible when you hover any element. Thanks,
RikardJanuary 7, 2016 at 11:27 am #561108Hi Rikard,
Thanks for your message. I can see that you have changed the header.
I must be doing something wrong then as I still cant see where to edit the elements. When I update my other two sites I hover over Pages from the menu on the left hand side of the screen then click on All Pages. From the list of pages displayed I hover over Frontpage then click on Edit. When the Frontpage is displayed I can only see the Avia Builder to add elements. I cant see the exisiting elements. (this is sjcinformatics example1.jpg in the screen shots I supplied).
Am I doing something incorrect as this is the process I use to edit my other two WP sites (these sites dont use Enfold sorry)
Could there be an issue with my laptop setup?
Cheers Simon
January 7, 2016 at 11:33 am #561113HI again,
OK, I tried to access my WP site fr a different laptop and I can see all the elements exactly as the demo describes so no wonder you guys were wondering what I was on about :) The problem is my laptop!
Any suggestions then as to what may be causing the elements to not being displayed?
Cheers
SimonPS. My laptop uses Windows 10 and the other laptop I tried in Win 8.1 ???????
OK, I have just tried to access my site through Internet Explorer rather than Google Chrome and I can now see the elements on my laptop so I have narrowed the problem down to Chrome. Any ideas?? I will serch the forums for any similar issues.
At least I can now edit my site :)
Cheers
SimonJanuary 7, 2016 at 2:56 pm #561265Hi Simon,
Great, glad you found the problem. Please try to flush the cache from Chrome and restart to see if that helps. You might want to use a tool like CCleaner as well if that doesn’t help.
Regards,
RikardJanuary 8, 2016 at 3:31 pm #562010Hi Rikard,
I flushed the cache as you suggested and great news…. I can now see all the elements when using Chrome as well now so I am one happy chap!!!!!
Thanks again for all the help!!!
Simon
