    Hi
    I have a clean WP child install for staging a new site. importing demos does not work from theme options – try to refresh error. in the theme files there’s only default.xml and default.php. the default xml was successfully imported imported but it is not needed.
    Why is theme options > import demo fail?
    Where are the demo xml files for manual demo imports?
    How to remove that default xml? I have WP reset plugin but reluctant to run it as there is a live WP site on a higher directory public_html

    max_execution_time 300, upload_max_filesize 256. temp directory is in wp-content.uploads

    Hi Yory,

    Which demo are you trying to import?
    Also, Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
      ( to be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

    When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
    If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create an admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Hi Yory,

    Thanks for giving us admin access.
    The reason it’s not working is because PHP ZipArchive Extension is disabled which is necessary in importing demo.
    You can verify it in Layerslider > Options > System Status.
    You can check this article on how to enable it: https://bobcares.com/blog/enable-php-zip-extension-cpanel/
    Or you can request assistance from your hosting provider.

    Demo import working now.
    What is the best way to clean the previously manually imported default.xml demo? I have WP Reset but not sure it is the right tool

    Hi Yory,

    You’re welcome :)
    If you have important pages/posts and images existing then the only way it to manually (bulk) remove pages/posts as well as images.
    But if there’s none then you can use WP Reset first so it’s clean slate then demo import.
