    I noticed that my footer disappeared after the most recent update (I had been deferring updates over the summer while things stabilized) and found this thread from Rikard as well as several other support threads on this topic:

    I compared header.php in my child to header.php in enfold theme folder and did not see any custom code in my header.php in the child… so I am not sure why I had it. I deleted header.php in my child theme folder and the site is running fine and the header has returned. I just want to make sure I did not cause other problems by deleting header.php in my child theme folder?

    Hi Rob,

    If you are not overriding header.php in any way in your child theme, then there is no point of having it there. Deleting it from the child theme should not have any effects on your actual site.
