As above date modified is 2015-04-09
But the date shown in text is July 23, 2014
Why?
Hey kriru!
The date meta is for when the post was actually published and that never changes unless you manually change it when editing the post.
If you want to change it then edit your post and right above the “Update” button you’ll see the date with an edit link.

and not for datepublished

I’m sorry but I don’t understand. Are you saying the post meta date that is displayed is the latest time you updated your post instead of the date when the post was actually published?
If so then that should not be happening. Try deactivating all of your plugins and completely delete the theme before downloading + uploading a fresh copy.
If I am misunderstanding then take a screenshot and highlight what is going on in your dashboard so we can get a better idea.

Steps to reproduce the error
1) Go to http://career.guru99.com/top-50-asp-net-interview-questions-answers
2) view Page source
3) search for code date-container minor-meta updated’ itemprop=”dateModified” datetime=”2015-04-09T15:42:30+00:00″ >July 23, 2014</time>
4) In the above code – 2015-04-09 so the date should be April 09,2014. Instead it shows July 23, 2014

Already installed a fresh copy of theme and checked
Hi!
We already fixed this on the latest version of the theme. I’m not sure if you have the latest version, 3.1.3. If not, please update the theme. The itemprop attribute has been replaced with datePublished instead of dateModified.
