I’ve downloaded Enfold to wordpress, but I can’t see how to get to the Dark Photography theme I want
March 7, 2018 at 10:15 pm #923389Hey Robert,
Please go to the Theme Settings and from there check the Import options.
Try it and let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.Best regards,
BasilisMarch 7, 2018 at 11:00 pm #923423Please be gentle with me – I am a complete novice!
I don’t see Theme Settings –

March 8, 2018 at 7:56 am #923620Hi,
We can’t access that page since we need to be logged in to be able to see it. If you have Enfold installed, then you should see a menu item in the WordPress menu reading Enfold. Try to click on that and you will see the theme options. You can then import the demo you want under Demo Import.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 8, 2018 at 12:57 pm #923849I can see now how to get the Dark Photography demo. What I would like to do is use Dark Photography as the template for my website warwickshirewayside.co.uk
There would be a grid of up to 100 photos/titles. Clicking on one of those 100 identities would take you to a page of information and more images relating to that identity. These identities are all historical roadside objects like milestones, in the UK county of Warwickshire.
Can you check if I am all set to achieve this, or is there anything else I need to upload or modify?
Any help you are able to offer gratefully received!
March 9, 2018 at 7:03 am #924283Hi RobertCaldicott,
I imported the dark photography demo, now you can go and modify the pages as you like.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

VictoriaMarch 9, 2018 at 7:27 pm #924677Brilliant! I am very pleased with the Enfold Dark Photography template, and I have made a start with editing to replace existing images and text.
1. How do I change title at top from Enfold Dark Photography to Warwickshire Wayside?
2. How do I remove the line above – Customise, Front page etc going along to Howdy, Robert Caldicott?
3. When you click on a front page item ,eg “The Stratford to Long Compton Six” you are taken to a second page. How do you remove the row of images at the top and replace them with new ones from the media file?I am very grateful for your help so far
March 11, 2018 at 10:12 pm #925281Hi,
It seems you need a lot of assistance to do your first steps with WordPress to be able to manage the theme.
Please go to1. Settings and from there you can see the details on how to change the title
2. That is visible only on admins, nothing to worry
3. Please edit the page and you will be able through the ALB to edit any of the elements, remove them or modify them.Try to check our documentation to learn more things about it
how to use it, edit and modify it!

BasilisMarch 13, 2018 at 12:39 am #925812I had already got Warwickshire Wayside in “Site Title” in General Settings, which is why I asked the questions.
Are you able to recommend someone who can give me a bit of (paid for) help? I find the Documentation quite difficult to understand.
I seem now to have lost the site altogether!

I seem now to have lost the site altogether!
The site looks fine on my end. Could you elaborate teh issues a bit? And please open a separate thread for each inquiry.

IsmaelJuly 20, 2019 at 11:55 am #1120427Good morning
There is ‘Menu items for mobiles’ under Enfold Main Menu general, but the trigger for the burger is either 990px for tablets or 768 for tablets & smartphones. We need wider than 990, but I can’t see where you can change that.July 21, 2019 at 4:45 am #1120561Hi,
To change the mobile brake point, Please try this code in the General Styling > Quick CSS field or in the WordPress > Customize > Additional CSS field:@media only screen and (max-width: 1366px) and (min-width: 768px) { .responsive #top .av_mobile_menu_tablet .av-main-nav .menu-item { display: none !important; } .responsive #top .av_mobile_menu_tablet .av-main-nav .menu-item-avia-special { display: block !important; } }
please adjust the values.

Another problem we are struggling with is this – I have scanned an old map (1788) of our county, Warwickshire. The scan is divided into four images, northwest, northeast, etc. Each image starts at a size of 24MB. Rather big, but giving wonderful detail. Resizing them down to a reasonable size for the website means that when a user zooms in to see detail, the image is too fuzzy. I realise this has nothing to do with your lovely theme, but can you suggest where I might ask for help?
July 21, 2019 at 8:56 pm #1120697Hi,
Sorry, I couldn’t login to examine the page, it seems the login has expired.
But I imagine your page shows a 2 x 2 grid with a smaller image and when someone clicks one of the 4 images the full-size image pops up, correct?
This sounds reasonable, they are expecting a large image to open, would you like a tooltip that larger images may take longer to download?Best regards,
MikeJuly 22, 2019 at 9:16 am #1120770We have adjusted the sizes, using the northwest quarter as a testbed, and I think the present compromise is the best we can achieve. Is there another way of achieving the same result but retaining better resolution?
Robert
July 24, 2019 at 7:12 pm #1121699Hi,
Thank you for the login, I took a look at the northwest quarter and it seems to be working good.
I can’t think of another way with better results.
But you could offer the larger images as an extra link on the page, so viewing it is an option.Best regards,
MikeAugust 1, 2019 at 6:33 pm #1123966Hi. Yes, I think we will work with the compromise of size, resolution and loading time.
Another query – (is it OK to go from one to the next like this?)
On a PC, the Home page has the text sliding up over the photo.
On a tablet or a phone, the Home page works differently. The whole of the old photograph is on view, with the text below it, and they scroll up the page together after doing a curious twitch or shimmy. (Tablet is a Samsung S3, phone is an LG Nexus 5).Is there a way of getting the text to slide over the photo, as on the PC?
Also it would be good to see the whole of the photo on the PC to start with.Robert
August 3, 2019 at 6:42 pm #1124396Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, when I look at your page for desktop I see the image is “parallax” which is where the image is fixed and the page and text moves over it, and for mobile the image moves with the page.
So if I understand correctly, you would like to remove the “parallax”?Yet, for desktop the image seems to be full size (whole), so I assume this also refers to removing the “parallax”, correct?
Best regards,
Mike -
