Hi,
So I created a Custom Post Type called “provider” for one of my websites. This post type will house a list of child care providers for the area, about 150~ of them. What I am trying to do is create a search JUST for the providers post type. I have tried a number of plugins that say they will limit the default search to just what you pick ie: my custom post type, but none seem to work.
What I wondering is if you guys did something to the default WP search to not let these plugins work or if you have any idea on how I could get this to work.
Also on the same topic, is it possible to create a custom archive page for my custom post type?

Please use the following plugin then integrate it with the theme’s ajax search:

In the plugin options, you can include or exclude post types.

IsmaelYea, So I see what you are saying, but my goal was to create a search just for that page that only searches in the provider’s post type. Along with a normal search that will just go in the header. You know what I mean?
So I would need the normal search to still work but I would also need a custom search on that pages that only searches in there.

you would need to search a special plugin for such functions. Otherwise you could hire a freelance developer for this job: http://kriesi.at/contact/customization
