I’m looking for some more specific info on creating and using a custom portfolio template. I’ve read about methods to build a layout template using the ALB, but not sure how to execute turning this into a WP template. Essentially I’d like to create a single template for my portfolio item that can be edited in a single place. We have over 100 products, and though the ALB is easy to use for each, if we need to add something globally to the page, we’re trying to prevent having to edit each portfolio post individually. I’ve enabled debug mode and see the shortcodes.

Try using the Save Template feature of Enfold, you can see this on the screenshot in private content. Just save one template, then apply to other pages/portfolio and modify the content. Hope this helps :)

I know how to save layout templates using the Save Template feature. My true question revolves around the ability to either update the Layout Template when it’s changed across other posts that use that saved layout, or turning the Layout Template into a modified Portfolio Post template so when I need to make edits to layouts, they propagate across all posts that use it.For example, if I have create a Layout Template where a slideshow is on the left half, and a content block is on the right, I can save the Layout Template. Then as I create new posts, I can apply that Layout Template to give me a starting point. However, after I’ve done 100 of those, and the client decides they want the slideshow to be full width, I’m unable to make a global change to the Layout Template that applies to all 100 posts. I would have to go into every single one and make that change. Ideally I would be able to go into the Portfolio Post Template, make the change in html and css, save, and it would apply to all 100 of those posts. Make sense?
thanks for the help.
January 31, 2018 at 5:10 am #905340Hi,
Yes that does make sense however Enfold doesn’t have that capability, to have something like global sections where any changes applied on 1 page will be applied to other pages that uses that global section. We would be glad to help you with this customization, but at the moment there is no easy way to do this by using a small custom code snippet, so I am afraid its out of the scope of our support.
But please feel free to request such feature at our feature request system: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
This system allows us to keep track of user suggestions and lets you vote on the feature you would like to see the most. I am afraid though there is no guarantee that a feature will get implemented.
Best regards,
