Dear Enfold-Team,
I have created some custom elements. When someone is using the search function in the frontend to look for a specific term (e.g. „background“), then the result page will also show my custom elements containing that term. How can I avoid displaying the custom elements as search results?
I have attached links to the website and screenshots below.
Thanks for your help,

Thanks for reporting this, I can reproduce the problem on a test installation as well. I’ll pass this information on to our developers, and we’ll let you know once we have a solution ready.

Our developers have come up with a solution. If you could share FTP details with us in private, then we can try to install it on your site. You could also simply wait for the next theme update. If you want us to install it for you, then please make sure that you have backups of your site, in case something should go wrong.

I assume that the problem is fixed with this version of Enfold. So there is no need for you to repair it on my server, since I can do the update by myself.
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the update. This problem should be fixed in the latest version of the theme, which I see that you have updated to. I tried searching for background on your site, and I can’t see any custom elements in the search results. Are you seeing the same thing on your end?

Yes, the same here: no custom elements shown in the search results – only pages and posts. Thanks.
But there’s still some strange behavior: when looking for the term „background“ the search results show all pages and posts containing custom elements named something like: „custom-bachground-element“.
The results do not link to the element itself anymore (which is good), but to the complete pages. Although the content (name, text, images) of these pages does not contain the term “background“ at all.
I can live with that – it’s a German website, there’s no English content, so nobody will look for English terms. Only my custom elements do have English names.

Thanks for the update and feedback, I can see the same thing on my end unfortunately. I will bring this up with our developers again.

I have discussed this with our developer again. According to them, WordPress default is to include shortcode attributes or values in search results. That basically means that it’s currently working as it should.

ok, good to know. So to avoid misleading search results you have to keep that in mind when namimg your custom elements.
Thanks again,
