Custom css field is now blank?

We’ve been building a new website using enfold in a folder off the root named “sandbox”. The IT team we are working with insisted on flipping the IP’s of the sandbox folder and their actual domain, instead of moving the installation the proper way. According to them that is all they did, in addition to changing the URL’s in the database to match. However all our work in the Custom CSS field (and yes we are using a child theme) was somehow lost.

Where are the custom CSS settings stored? File on directory or database? How can we restore them?

we have restored everything from backups, but there is concern the Enfold theme was the problem. Can anyone confirm that the buggy problems in the thread below have been addressed? We are going to try migrating the installation using UpdraftPlus’s migration tool.

    Hey!

The post you are linking is very old we have released several updates after that.

We need a little more info about this issue.

    1. When you mention Custom CSS was lost was the css placed in Enfold > General Styling > Quick CSS ?
    2. Was a child theme in place ?
    3. Did you try the Export and Import theme settings/options.

Please use a reliable plugin to move/backup and restore the site like http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

    Regards,
    Vinay

Hi Vinnie, thanks for getting back to me.

    1. Yes, exactly, Quick CSS info was lost.
    2. Yes
    3. We did not try exporting the theme options. I had recommended using the clone/migrate UpdraftPlus tool, however the IT team chose to leave the installation as it is, and use DNS IP settings to point the new domain to the folder. They manually changed URL’s in the database. What we ended up with was a huge mess with the portfolio elements we built, as well the lost css modifications in the Quick CSS section.

Since this fiasco, they have rolled back to backups and everything is restored now. However their IT team provided that old link to us yesterday, citing the problems in it as the cause of the problems.

So I guess my questions are

    1. Where are the Quick CSS settings stored, in case we have this problem again
    2. Are there any known issues with the current/latest Enfold theme version 3.4.6 during migration to new domains? We will be using Updraft plus migration tool for the next attempt.

Thanks for you support and great theme. We love Enfold.

How about the Quick CSS settings, where are they saved?

    Hi!

It is save in the database > _options table.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
