    Hi, I updated Enfold from version 4.8.5 to version 5.5 today and got a critical error – the start page was blank and simply showed the error. The error message in the mail was:

    Ein Fehler vom Typ E_COMPILE_ERROR wurde in der Zeile 49 der Datei /usr/local/www/apache24/noexec/—website-name-replaced—see private content for website adresse–/website/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/chart/chart.php verursacht. Fehlermeldung: Access level to avia_sc_chart::shortcode_insert_button() must be public (as in class aviaShortcodeTemplate)

    The website is unfortunately still running on PHP 7.4.30. I have contacted the hoster to ask him to update to 8.1
    The WordPress version is 6.2 and all plugins are up to date

    Can you tell from the error message why this is happening?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Best regards,
    Sara

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    We checked the site and noticed that it still contains the older version, 4.8.5. Please update the theme in the live site or clone it to a development environment so that we can check the issue properly.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

    Yes, sorr, I reverted to the older version because the client needed the website to be up and running.

    I´ve created a staging site and funnily enough, that works with Enfold 5.5
    I uploaded the update via ftp rather than using the backend. I´ll have a go at a manual update for the live site and get back to you.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Sara

    Hi Ismael,

    the live website is now running Enfold 5.5 without the critical error but I have now noticed that there is an issue :
    The galeries are now repeating each row so that I have 2 rows of the same images. I´ll attach the links where you can see this happening.

    Can you check this for me? You can access the staging site (also running 5.5. and displaying the same error) with the credentials I gave you. Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Sara

    Hi,

    We’re not entirely sure why the gallery images are being duplicated, but in the meantime, you can use the following CSS code to hide the duplicates:

    #top div .avia-gallery .big-prev-fake {
        display: none;
    }

    Please provide the S/FTP login details in the private field, and we’ll let you know as soon as we figure out what’s causing the issue.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

    Thanks for getting back to me. I´ve just looked at the staging site again and you seem to have figured out the issue in the meantime? The gallery images are no longer being duplicated, even without the above CSS code. I´ve updated to the lated version of Enfold and it all looks fine. Can you confirm this? Then I´ll update the live site.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Sara

    Hi,
    Thank you for your patience, your two pages on your staging site seem to be working correctly and I don’t see any errors, try making a backup of your live site and update to see if you get the same results.

    Best regards,
    Mike
