Thanks again for an awesome theme!
I’m sure you must have answered this before but I can’t find it. I’ve done lots of customization in the Enfold options and with the advanced builder. Now I need to do some code customizations. I have not created a Child theme. I have understood how to create the Child theme but I have also understood that all my settings will be gone once the Child theme is activated.
Will it suffice to use the export/import function in Enfold options to make my customizations survive or are there any other measures I should take before installing and activating a Child theme?
Thanks!
Magnus

There is an option in Dashboard > Enfold > Import/Export for importing the parent theme settings after you activate a child theme.

ElliottAugust 12, 2015 at 9:20 am #486344I exported my theme settings, downloaded the Child theme from here: http://bit.ly/enfold-child, activated the Child theme, imported the theme settings, but it did not work. Fonts, colors and much other styling was off, so I restored it to the original theme. Can you help me install the Child theme without loosing my settings?
Thanks,
Magnus

I am sorry that did not worked out so easy. That is what we suggest to everyone, so you might be having some customizations to files etc, which we can not detect.
You can contact one of our Customization Contractors, who will help you out with the process.

It’s the same for me. Not all color choices and settings are imported. Tried both the ‘Export from org. Theme’ -> ‘Import to Child theme’ functionality and the ‘Import Settings from your Parent Theme’ functionality. Both of them giving the same result with missing settings.
All configurations and settings were done in the ‘Enfold Theme Options’ screen not ind files.

Per MeldgaardAugust 20, 2015 at 8:41 am #490586Hey Per,
Sometimes the imported setting don’t have an affect immediately, but if you toggle the settings, for instance just highlighting a colour so that you can save the settings again, the settings will kick in. Just try toggling any setting you find not applying immediately.
Thanks,
