CPT and Page same permalink

Hi,

I wonder if this set up has any problems.

1. I create a custom post type – Recipes
2. I create a page Recipes

both of them share the same slug/permalink. When the link is access, the page Recipes is loaded instead of the Custom Post Type Recipes. I think it works great for me as I can use the Advanced layout editor to build the page instead of struggling with codes to create CPT template. I’m very raw with wordpress and php, not sure if this will cause any problems?
