Hi
When I try to upload using the custom font manager it displays the error “Couldn’t add the font because the server didn’t respond. Please reload the page, then try again”I have tried the following solutions that I’ve found on the forum but none of them worked:
– Deactivate all plugins
– Activated ZipArchive
– Increased memory allowanceI previously had a font uploaded but wanted to update it with a new one. The new file would not upload and when I tried re-uploading the old file it wouldn’t work either.
Both WordPress and the Enfold theme are updated to be the latest versions.
Can you help?
Thanks
Simon
July 14, 2018 at 11:50 pm #985523Hey JPSmarketing,
I have taken a look and found that your webhost doesn’t have PHP ZipArchive Extension enabled. Please ask them to enable it for you, and then try again.Best regards,

Thanks for your reply. I contacted my webhost today and they enabled the PHP ZipArchive Extension but I still cannot add fonts.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

July 19, 2018 at 3:18 am #987239Hi,
Thanks for the file, I was not able to import it into my localhost, but I was able to download a new icon from fontello.com and import it, I was also able to do this for your site too. So I believe the issue is with your file.
I couldn’t find the same icons on fontello.com to create a new file, is this where you got it from?
Can you try creating a new icon file?Best regards,
MikeJuly 23, 2018 at 1:08 pm #988678Hi Mike
I just did a similar test, this time with the latest icons I had added removed from the file and it worked perfectly. So I’m assuming there is something in the new icons that doesn’t play nicely with Enfold/Wordpress/Fontello/Host.
I shall now do some trial and error to see if I can pinpoint what it doesn’t like.
Thanks for your help!

July 23, 2018 at 1:23 pm #988683Hi,
Thanks for the update, we look forward to your results.
Also I tried searching on fontello.com for your icons, but couldn’t find them, I assume you gave them custom names, what were their original names?Best regards,
MikeJuly 23, 2018 at 2:18 pm #988702Hi Mike
I’ve managed to get the icons working now. Took them into a new 500 x 500px document in Illustrator and made sure they were all black, expanded and then made a compound path. This seemed to do the trick, so not sure what I missed from the process last time as previously I’d not had a problem.
Not sure what name you’re referring to with regards the custom names. All the icons are saved from Illustrator with unique descriptive names. I gave the font file on fontello the name buildersbeams.
Kind regards
Simon
