Hello,
We have been having lots of problems with our theme and not sure why. I’ve reached out to a few people on Fiverr and they all agreed that there are corrupt files. Could someone please help us? I paid for an extra 6 months of support. I have two websites using the enfold child theme. Thanks!
February 17, 2023 at 8:26 am #1398301Hey simplycoding15,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Where do the issues occur? Please create a test page and provide screenshots so that we can understand the problem better. You should also update the theme to version 5.4 and remove the older Enfold folder to avoid confusion.
Best regards,
IsmaelFebruary 17, 2023 at 5:49 pm #1398377Issues occur inside the advanced layout editor under any module that is not a basic text editor. For example “Headline”. The templates thing appears on the main screen when I open up wordpress. How do I provide screenshots here? I don’t see where to upload?
Also where do I update version 5.4. I thought it was. I provided it to my business partner to put it up on the server. Also where do we remove the older folder(s) of Enfold?
I provided login creds as well for you to see for yourself.
February 17, 2023 at 5:54 pm #1398378can you see these images?
February 18, 2023 at 12:33 pm #1398425Hi,
Please try using this plugin to update instead: https://envato.com/market-plugin/. If updating doesn’t help, then please try deactivating all plugins, so see what happens then.
The templates in your child theme are not added by us, since they are located in your child. Please refer to WooCommerce documentation on how to update them.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 21, 2023 at 1:39 am #1398698Okay I installed the plugin and went to click update and it says, ” Updating failed The theme is at the latest version…” I have no way to check the server though to see if there are multiple old files on there. And I can’t disable ALL plugins because the store would stop running. We have orders coming in everyday. Please advise.
February 21, 2023 at 1:47 am #1398699I paid for 6 month support. Can’t you go in and see what problems we have? I’ve given you all the information. I’m confused as to what I paid for. Please Advise. I really need this stuff fixed.
February 21, 2023 at 1:53 am #1398700Now I’m seeing this error:
https://app.box.com/s/2cisl9zm5h0i9ft2gdohx8mxxebuut7fand this is happening when I click on Enfold Child in menu under “theme update”. Seems like the token is not working since enabling that other plugin you had me do.
February 21, 2023 at 4:21 am #1398715Hi simplycoding15,
For this issue: https://app.box.com/s/2cisl9zm5h0i9ft2gdohx8mxxebuut7f
I think it is working, however, the file permissions are locked with only “read” permission that’s why the plugin fails to update your theme since it also needs the “write” permission.
We can help you with this but we will need FTP access, please post the credentials in private content:I paid for 6 month support. Can’t you go in and see what problems we have? I’ve given you all the information. I’m confused as to what I paid for. Please Advise. I really need this stuff fixed.
We have checked your site and will help you with the issues related with theme and will try to extend our support. As for what support we offer you can check it here (as defined by themeforest): https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policyWith regards to this: https://app.box.com/s/vy802w961ujpqeqdpy593rbjsjn9ovn2
The problem is the customization made in the child theme, it is the woocommerce folder inside the child theme which is custom made, which needs to be updated. Does this cause any issue in your shop? then you will need to contact the developer who made it or another developer who can fix it.
If the customization does not cause any issue, except for the notification in the backend then we will help you remove it.As for https://app.box.com/s/a7ih0677ourjh1toeasm5w7020ne0054
I have checked it and I don’t really see any issue, there was no space in its right area after the text in the special heading.
I have checked it in the page I specified in private content.Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 21, 2023 at 5:38 pm #1398803I’m checking on those first two things and should be able to get you FTP access. On the third item, what is happening is the spacebar does not work inside the advanced layout editor when doing a Heading or other modules like that. https://app.box.com/s/a7ih0677ourjh1toeasm5w7020ne0054
February 22, 2023 at 11:11 am #1398862Hi simplycoding15,
I see, can you setup a staging site for us? it’s basically just a duplicate of your live site and placed on a subdomain where we can try to debug without affecting your live site, some hosting provider offer an option to create a staging site via cpanel, but your webhost does not have it on your Cpanel then you can use a plugin, please check this tutorial: https://wpengine.com/resources/what-is-a-staging-site-why-have-one/#How_to_Create_a_Staging_Site_for_WordPress
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 22, 2023 at 11:26 pm #1398947Nikko,
I contacted our owner and he provided me with this info. Perhaps this will help. He’s also working on the staging. FTP creds are provided below in private content.
Updating failed Could not create directory is the error we are getting now after trying to update file/folder permissions.
drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Feb 21 16:36 upgrade
Let me know what you find out.
February 23, 2023 at 12:05 am #1398948Nikko,
Here is more info from owner for you.
Here’s the error I got when cloning with WP-Staging.
I had to manually upload that plugin into the plugins directory.
When I tried to install it from New Plugins I got the same error where it couldn’t create a directory in the /opt/wordpress/wp-content/upgrade/ directory.
When I tried to upload the zip download of wp-staging it says it exceeded the file size in the php.ini file. However in there we have 10M file size and the zip was only 2M

Can you please respond? i’ve provided everything and we really need to move on this stuff fast.
February 24, 2023 at 2:26 am #1399069Hi simplycoding15,
I apologize for the delayed response since there are many queries in the queue lately.
It seems that all folders are not writeable though when I check via FTP, folders are using 755 (permission) but when you go to the WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info > Filesystem Permissions, you will see they are not writeable. Also I tried to verify if it is writeable or not, I tried to create a file via FTP and it returns this error:553 Could not create file
When trying to create a folder
550 Create directory operation failed
Please try to check this first with your webhost since the issue is related with the server and we could not really do anything without proper file and folder permission.
Best regards,
NikkoFebruary 24, 2023 at 9:01 pm #1399191We still can’t figure it out. We’ve contacted Liquid Web who is our server provider and still no luck with what is going on here.
Also I reached out to WooCommerce about this:
Please see image here https://app.box.com/s/d43w9h0qzq5xwjz9mr776ic9jz5xk2en . It is messing with our theme apparently as well. There response to me was this below:
“This error is more of a warning rather than an error. We recommend you work with your theme developers to get these templates updated at the earliest. That would ensure that your store won’t run into any errors when your customers are trying to complete purchases.”
February 25, 2023 at 2:53 am #1399203Okay we finally just ENABLED all permissions and that seemed to have worked to allow us to update. Also we setup the staging site for you as well. Now can you go in there and fix anything that needs fixing. I think there are OLD files/folders of the theme and this is causing issues is my guess. But we don’t know which to delete or what to do about that. You still have the FTP creds and here is the staging site. https://simplycoding.org/stage/
February 25, 2023 at 7:11 am #1399219Hi simplycoding15,
Thanks for doing that, this is fixed: https://app.box.com/s/vy802w961ujpqeqdpy593rbjsjn9ovn2
Please review the staging site and if everything is good, please copy woocommerce folder in the child theme of the staging site and replace the one in your live site.As for https://app.box.com/s/a7ih0677ourjh1toeasm5w7020ne0054 this plugin is causing the issue: Check & Log Email
I have disabled it on the staging site and spacebar works properly. Please review the staging site and let us know your feedback.
Best regards,
NikkoMarch 7, 2023 at 7:03 pm #1400383Okay. I think we’ve done everything. Can you check and see if it looks all right?
March 7, 2023 at 10:32 pm #1400410nevermind! I thought we did and then I went to upload coupons codes via .csv and keep getting this error below and then after trying 3 times it locks me out and crashes the server or something. I don’t get it. We are trying to figure out how and what to copy from staging site. So we may need a little more help.
Error: the uploaded file could not be moved to wp/content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads .
and then this other error on the WP staging:
WP STAGING – Folder Permission error.
The folder /opt/wordpress/ is not write and/or readable.
Check if this folder is writeable by php user php-fpm or www-data . File permissions should be chmod 755 or 777.March 9, 2023 at 9:16 pm #1400595Could someone please get back to me? WE still are having issues after doing what you said. Template files are showing out of date AGAIN. Please advise. We paid for support on this and we need it.
March 10, 2023 at 9:28 pm #1400781Hi simplycoding15,
Please check on Tools > Site Health > Info (tab) > Filesystem Permissions and check if permissions are writable, this can only be changed via your server or cpanel.
As for template files showing, I think you will need to modify your child theme from using template files to override certain functions to using woocommerce hooks & filters. Otherwise, everytime you update woocommerce and some of those files are updated then you will always have to update those files in your child theme as well.Best regards,
NikkoApril 4, 2023 at 7:31 pm #1403547Nikko,
we have solved some of the issues. HOWEVER, we are running into two main issues with WooCommerce, however they have directed us to you to fix the issues as they say it is the THEME issue.
1) On product pages we still can’t do spacing. Please advise what is causing this.
2) WooCommerce / Settings / Products the Add to Cart behavior is unchecked to redirect directly to checkout page, but it does not work. It still does it and does not go to View Cart.
April 7, 2023 at 5:22 am #1403759Hi simplycoding15,
I tried to login however the user permission seems downgraded so we can’t check further for #2.
For #1, as for spacebar issue, the one responsible is Check & Log Email plugin (as mentioned in my previous replies), however, I can’t check if it’s enabled or disabled.
Best regards,
Nikko -
