regarding the post Renaming Duplicated LayerSliders (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/renaming-duplicated-layersliders/), the answers given there are wrong. There IS a way to change the name of a slider. Edit the slider, then go to Global Settings Tab (or Toolbar button) – there you have a big text input at the top with the name of the slider.
