    Hi there,

i would like to configure the cookie consent message in a way that cookies are not loaded when the page is loaded, but that users can opt-in and afterwards cookies are loaded.

So far i only managed to load cookies and confirm (which is not DSGVO-compliant) or to not load cookies and confirm (which excludes the possibility for the user to load cookies at all).

    Thanks for helping me out!

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hey Mike1050,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Which specific cookies are you trying to block? You can adjust the Default Cookie Behavior settings in the Enfold > Privacy & Cookies > Cookie Handling panel. The third and fourth option in the behavior settings should disable all external cookies including maps, youtube and more.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

thanks for your Input. I already was aware of that.

The site I’m working on uses only essential cookies and google fonts. For now I managed to build a workaround. But I’m not satisfied: I preload all cookies, including the google fonts service (which is by default not compliant with eu law). Furthermore disable the feature to unselect essential cookies.

To be able to work out a fine solution I’m left with 2 questions:

    – How is it possible to load essential cookies, but don’t load other cookies or in my case other services like google fonts?
    – Why do you event offer the option to unselect essential cookies? It the “essential” cookies after all.

    Thanks for your help!

    Best,
    Mike

    Hi,

    – How is it possible to load essential cookies, but don’t load other cookies or in my case other services like google fonts?

You can set the Default Cookie Behavior to the fourth option enable essential cookies by default and block external cookies (maps, videos etc), user must then accept and opt in manually.

    – Why do you event offer the option to unselect essential cookies? It the “essential” cookies after all.

Please note that essential cookies just refer to the local cookies that are set by the theme, which do not contain any user-related info. These cookies control other cookies and other behaviors related to the local cookie storage. One essential cookie for example allow the users to hide the consent bar without actually accepting external cookies.

Please check the following documentation for more info about the theme’s privacy & cookie options.

    Best regards,
