Hy. I buy the Plugin “ConvertPlus” on Themeforest (https://codecanyon.net/item/popup-plugin-for-wordpress-convertplug/14058953)
Now i create a “Modal Popup” and activate the Cookie option, that the popup dont show again – when i click close or convert with a click. But this function dont work with the “ENFOLD THEME VERSION 4.7.6.3”. I deactive all Plugins, dont work. After that i choose the “TwentyTwenty” Theme to test. Then it works fine. After i activate “ENFOLD” same problem again. I test another site with the same Plugin and same Popup – and it works.
i contact the support of “ConvertPlus” and the Support Team told me – that the issue is a conflict in “ENFOLD” …. can you fix that for me?

September 28, 2020 at 12:02 am #1248885Hi,
Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the login, I enabled your ConvertPlus plugin Modal Popup and the Enfold cookie bar was already enabled. I added “Additional Custom Cookies” in the theme settings for the three cookies I found:
cp-impression-added-forcp_id_62d50
cp_id_62d50
temp_cp_id_62d50
but I don’t think that the first popup is setting the cookie, the second time that you close popup it seems to set the cookie.
The settings for your cookie bar allows the cookies and only removes them if the user choose this. I’m not seeing any other errors and I’m not sure which of these cookies is for the popup, the ConvertPlus documentation doesn’t say. Can you ask ConvertPlus which cookie is meant to be set?Best regards,

@Shivam, thank you, in my tests on this site I find that the cookie for not showing the popup after closing it with the “x” button, doesn’t seem to set on the first show, before our cookie bar is accepted, on the second show the cookie is set. The cookie bar function is to allow all cookies on the first load and remove known cookies only if the cookie bar is dismissed. I added the plugin cookies to the theme settings, but this is to allow end users to remove cookies, as all cookies are allowed.
These are the cookies I found:
cp-impression-added-forcp_id_62d50 : true
cp_id_62d50 : true
temp_cp_id_62d50 : true
which I understand to be yours, which one is for setting the timer to not show the popup for future visits on closing the popup with the close button?
As a test I can set the cookies, on the second showing on the popup, and remove these cookies from the browser, but the popup still doesn’t show on re-load?
I also tried to fake these cookies, but the popup still shows? Thanks and I hope you have a great day, Mike

@p412421e1, sorry checking another theme with the plugin doesn’t assist with this. It seems from Shivam’s reply that they don’t understand your issue, I was under the impression that they have been assisting you with this?
It is interesting that adding or removing the cookies doesn’t seem to affect the popup, I wonder if the plugin actually uses the database to decide to show the popup or not, and not the cookies directly, I’m not sure.
I have asked the rest of the team for ideas on this, thank you for your patience.Best regards,

Sorry for the delay. You may need to ask the plugin authors what controls the popup’s visibility as Mike replied above. Is it by a database entry or just cookies? Unfortunately, we are not really familiar how this plugin works, so additional info from the plugin authors will surely help.
Now i create a “Modal Popup” and activate the Cookie option, that the popup dont show again
And going back to what you have said above, according to the video, enabling cookies will prevent the modal popup from displaying or at least limit its occurrence, so isn’t it normal that it doesn’t display again after enabling the cookies? Please clarify.
Best regards,

As you mentioned, I’d like to inform you that cookies are not stored in database i.e it has nothing to do with database entry.
Yes, thank you. We are quite aware that cookies are not stored in the database. What we are asking is which cookie does the “Enable Cookies” add to the local storage to prevent the popup from displaying again for people or users who already see it? If it is not by a cookie, then how does the plugin control the visibility of the popups?
Mike observed that removing all cookies in the local storage does not really help or it does not affect the behavior of the popups, so we are a bit confused how the plugin controls the visibility, or how it decides whether to display the popup again or not.
Best regards,

Thank you for the info.
The required cookies (cp_id_1898c-conversion or cp-impression-added) to control the modal popup visibility only get added once the privacy cookies are accepted even when the Default Cookie Behavior is set to the first option as Mike observed. And for some reason, the av-cookies-user-silent-accept class name, which prevents the theme from removing all cookies in the site when the users have not accepted the cookies yet, is not found in the html tag.
Please try to edit the enfold\js\avia-snippet-cookieconsent.js and comment out line 482 or this code, then reload page again and close or convert the pop up.
remove_all_cookies( keep_cookies );
Let us know if the required cookies gets saved if we temporarily remove this function.
Is there a staging or development version of the site?
Best regards,
Ismael -
