    Hi Team,
Have a blog posted being updated (will explain step by step below) and after we hit “Update” the content either:
    1) disappears from Advanced Layout Editor or…
    2) publishes to page, but when you go back in to edit post again – the section just updated is gone again.

    Here’s what we are doing:
    1) It is a 3,000 word blog post in sections (color section saved to template library) “Top 12 Cafes”
    2) Inside each color section is a Team member element, Text box, button element, masonry grid of images, google map element
    3) We go to Templates and click on “Cafe Blog Section” which inserts the color section at the bottom of the post – content disappears as described above
3a) Have also tried cloning the last color section and this content disappears in the same way as described above
    4) Issue occurs after updating a variety of elements. Have tried troubleshooting by updating just one element at a time and publishing. There is zero consistency to this. As soon as we “Edit post” to come back into make further changes, the content disappears.

Only plugins are Yoast and Post Types Order (both up to date).

Looked at 4.5.1 changelog and couldn’t see it addressed. Looked through forum and saw other answers re: missing </> closing HTML tag but found even when updating the image in Team Member, the content then disappears from the post.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks
    Scott

    Hey scottgroves73,

Sorry for the problem and thanks for the login details. When this problem happens it’s usually due to open html markup in the content. I tried looking for that but the post is very long, could you try to look for any open markup just before the content starts disappearing please?

    <strong>Bold text closed properly</strong>

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
I’ve already been looking for this also but very hard to spot in Team Member element when that is the only change causing the content to disappear. There’s no text editor in here to check it.

Keep in mind, all these are duplicates of a color section containing the exact same info / content – either from template or clone from one above and yet those color sections remain.

I am aware of the broken tag issue (or failure to close a tag) and have been looking for that.

Will keep looking but might require a Team effort from all.

    Hi,

There’s no text editor in here to check it.

Try to copy the text to an IDE so that you can check for tag errors.

I created a test post, applied the “12 Cafes” template to it and added 2 “Cafe Blog Section” templates. I couldn’t reproduce the issue. (see private field)

    Best regards,
    Ismael
