Hey there,
I am generally pretty good at scouring the forums and finding solutions to my issues however I could not find a recent “fix” for this issue. Here’s the deal: On one (1) of the pages on my site, when I make ANY content, image etc. changes, I click “preview changes” and everything but the first paragraph is gone, poof! To fix, I created a template from this page and then added a new page and used the template as to not create all the content from scratch – that also did not work. I then created a Testing Page, added ALL content from scratch – (4th time recreating this page) All was fine so I deleted the old page, and renamed the new page with what it is to be … All was beautiful however I am fine tuning the page and the issue has come back. If I make any content changes in any of the sections, when I hit preview changes, poof – almost the entire page is gone. I have to back out of the page and not save any changes. I have disabled all plugins, cleared cache and checked with my hosting to be sure all is fine on that end … Super frustrated as I have recreated this page 4-times and it appears to be only happening on THIS page, even after recreating it, renaming it etc. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have included the website and the specific url / page that I am having an issue with as well as admin log in credentials in the private section. THANK YOU in advance!August 31, 2017 at 5:35 pm #846416Hey Blanche,
Which version of php are you running? Which page can we test without breaking existing content?
Could you please enable the Advanced Layout Builder debug mode . Here is how to do it: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/Best regards,

I removed the double quote character from the first paragraph on the problem page, and no content seems to have disappeared after saving. Could you check and verify that it’s working as it should please?

Thanks for the note. I see what you did however sadly this did not work because actually, some of the content IS gone now, it’s fine as I have all content saved. I have attached 2 images in the private section – I changed out the copy in the second text box (white text) and when I click “preview changes” all content under the 2nd text box disappears. I did NOT save the changes, I just backed out of the page. Hopefully that makes sense. VERY strange issue!Thank you in advance for your assistance!!
~CheersSeptember 2, 2017 at 12:19 pm #847153Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. When this happens it’s almost always due to open or incorrect HTML markup in the content which breaks the builder. I found this in your content:
WHAT DO<BR><span style="color: #c9dd88;"> WE DO,</SPAN><BR> YOU ASK?
Could you try changing it to this instead?
WHAT DO<br /><span style="color: #c9dd88;"> WE DO,</span><br /> YOU ASK?
If that doesn’t work either, then please remove all the markup and just keep the text. We can make it look the way you want with CSS only.
Best regards,

September 4, 2017 at 6:09 am #847511Hi Rikard,
Thank you for the note. I did as you requested and removed ALL markup from the text on the Full Width Slider, as it was not working with the replacement markup you suggested. After removing the markup, I was able to save/update the page and all the content on the page was saved too. However, I then moved to the second text block (where the copy is in white) and changed some text, went to preview the changes and ALL content below that second text box was gone, again. I stripped the markup from that text box as well and it still would NOT save the page content so I backed out of it to preserve the content.I do not understand why this is happening – I see that the text in the slider had <BR> instead of <br /> and </SPAN><BR> instead of </span><br />, thank you for pointing that out, I have never encountered an issue with CAPS breaking the builder … I checked all the other html markup on the page and all appears to be fine? I apologize that I can’t figure this out, as I manage 4 other websites with the
Enfold theme and have never encountered this …Your assistance and insight would be very appreciated.
Thank you!!September 4, 2017 at 10:24 am #847638Hi,
Thanks for the feedback and I’m sorry about the problems. I’m looking at the page in private, what exactly do we have to do to reproduce the error on that page?
The layout builder is unfortunately a bit sensitive to markup in general, it can break with only small errors. On thing you could try to do it to use the default elements as much as possible. For instance, you 2 rows or 1/3 elements with headers in every other element. Maybe you could try the Special Heading element instead of adding it using Text Blocks?

Thanks for the quick response! To replicate the issue, if you change out the text in the second text block (the text in white) and then preview changes, you will see the issue – as an example, I just removed all text except the first sentence and removed the <H1> tag, when I go to preview changes, ALL content below that text box is gone and as such, I just end up backing out and not making any changes to the page. Please see the image link in the private section.Do you want to look at that first to see if you can replicate the issue OR should I start your recommended changes using Special Headings instead of text blocks?
Let me know and thank you again, in advance, for helping me solve this issue.
September 5, 2017 at 7:49 am #847983Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, I tried changing that text block into this and I got the same error:
<h1 style="color: #ffffff;">TODAY, BRANDS HAVE BECOME WHAT PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE. AND WHAT THEY SAY IS BASED ON THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH THE BRAND. FROM THE PRODUCTS YOU CREATE, THE MESSAGE YOU DELIVER OR THE AUDIENCE YOU ARE COMMUNICATING WITH – EVERYTHING WILL HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT TO YOUR BRANDS PERCEIVED VALUE.</h1>
I really don’t understand why to be honest with you. Maybe it would be better if you recreated the layout using the method I previously recommended?
Best regards,

Thanks for the note – if the ultimate expert, you, doesn’t understand the issue, that must mean it’s serious, as you are the ultimate problem solver, solution guru! As you suggest, I will start from scratch, creating yet another new page and see if I can get beyond the error. I will get back to you by day’s end with the results – hoping I can have the page look the way I want it to.Stay tuned and THANK YOU again, I truly appreciate you trying to help me troubleshoot this strange issue!
September 7, 2017 at 12:41 am #848891Hi Rikard,
I have started a fresh page from scratch and am not seeing the error/issue on the new page. Thank you very much for trying to assist, bummer we could not find a solution so I didn’t have to start from scratch, however the good news is, the issue has gone away, for now!
THANK YOU again!September 8, 2017 at 6:01 am #849388 -
