can we get more configuration options for the contact form? Gmail SMTP sending options perhaps? or at minimum, a way to have the emails sent be from our own email address from the domain its being sent from, instead of the address typed in by the submitter?!

emails being received from an email address that’s different from the domain it’s being sent from, will most likely get marked as spam/junk by most of the big email services that i know of (Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, etc).

yes, we can monitor our spam folders more often or setup filters/rules etc – but that’s more effort than i think we should have to do (or have our clients do).

i believe it’s been common for a few years now to not have forms send emails using the users address because of this method being so spam-likely. so i’m surprised Enfold’s contact form automatically does this & doesn’t give us a way to change that.

i found this function override – is it legit?
before i start implementing it, are there plans for an update soon to fix this issue or at least give us more options?

    thanks.

    Hey SyberKnight,

As you may already know there are several reasons why your email may get marked as SPAM and end up in the junk folder. It is not a theme related issue but in most cases, you can avoid this by following the best practice.

We cannot say for sure if the function override will work for you. However, there is no harm in trying and also check the below links for some useful tips.

    Best regards,
    Vinay
